Make sure to unplug all of your appliances and electronics, even if they are off. Most things go into standby mode, rather than off, and still consume power when they are not being used.
This is very educational content and written well for a change. It's nice to see that some people still understand how to write a quality post.!usb c manufacturer

alternative to unplugging by: Anonymous
I keep my tv & dvd player plugged into a surge protector. Turning that switch off is easier than fooling with the plugs. The computer and peripherals are on another surge protector, and I turn than off when the system is going to be unused as well.

I do it! by: Kayla
I make sure to unplug all of my stuff. I know that all video game consoles, VCRs, DVD players, among other things are just in stand-by mode when you turn them off. This saves the environment AND lowers your electricity bill! Great way to save both the Earth and Money!

Leave some things plugged by: Anonymous
We have gone green at my work and we found if we unplug all the building's computers it can create more troubles. Everyone firing up the next morning at the same time creates a surge in power. It also overloaded our network system and everything crashed. We turn our computers off but leave them plugged into the power surge.
