Haier Washing Machines

Washing machines and garment care are a fact of life in the modern world.

One of the leading worldwide manufacturers of washing machines for various domestic and commercial uses is Haier, out of China. They don’t have the biggest market presence in the US, but their products consistently get a good rating.

Haier is, like a lot of Asian manufacturers, thoroughly integrated, producing everything from mobile phones to industrial refrigerators and kitchen appliances.

Haier's rise has been relatively quick; they started manufacturing for export in 2002, and by August 2005, they were ranked as one of China's top global brands by Financial Times.

While most of the "heavy lifting" parts of Haier machines are built in China, Haier sends partially completed machines to the US for final assembly and localization, with plants doing final processing in Kentucky and Louisiana.

This "local assembly" also makes it easier for Haier to respond to market demands, and to get products into top tier retailers of home appliances, like Sears and Lowe's.

Haier's products are built to address a wide range of needs, and, like most industrial machinery, is designed for everyday use. Haier machines are durable, and built solidly , with a number of features in common

Haier Washing Machines and Dyers Overview.

Haier has put a lot of engineering touches on their machines to make them more energy and water efficient. More than 2/3 of Haier’s product models win the Energy Star certification, which is a prime selling point to environmentally conscious (or even financially conscious) consumers.

Haier washing machines come in three broad form factors: Top loading traditional washers, portable washing machines meant to be rolled into and out of cabinet and hooked up to a kitchen sink, and all-in-one washer/dryer combination units.

All of these use Haier 's innovative reduced maintenance drive for running the agitators, and have solid stateof the art push button controls with LCD displays.

Durability, as mentioned above, is a hallmark of Haier construction techniques – the washtubs are built out of stainless steel, and the designs are over-engineered to reduce warranty repairs and maintenance needs. Haier expects you to buy a washing machine and keep it running for years on end, and puts a lot of value into their sales proposition because of this.

Haier’s Topload Washing Machines Features

Haier 's top loading washers start with their super capacity top load washers. If you're a household with children, you know how important it is to be able to run large loads of laundry, without having to worry about unbalanced loads.

The Haier top-loading models use an onboard computer to shift the agitators around to re-balance the load while the machine is running, meaning you don't have to take the time to do it yourself. They come in standard, and their Genesis model, and both models get the Energy Star rating.

Genesis Toploading Washing Machine

The Genesis model of Haier washers use a constant water stream technology; rather than letting your clothes soak in sudsy water; they use a constant flow to take the grime away with the used soap.

This constant flow results in cleaner garments than the traditional soak-and-rinse method, and is gentler on the clothes, since they don't need to be beaten by the agitator as much to remove dirt that's re-deposited itself.

Haier’s Compact Washing Machines Features

Haier 's compact models are meant to be used in an apartment, by a couple or a person living on their own – they have much lower capacities than the top loaders mentioned above, but are built to the same range of features.

These compact models have electronic timers, so you can set the machine to run after a delay (letting you set it to start after you've left for work, for instance) and have a bewildering array of controls, that range from water levels, to automatic bleach and detergent dispensers, to seven different fabric cycles for maintaining your wardrobe.

Their capacities range from 4.5 lbs of clothes up to 13.2 – these are fairly small loads if you're not used to tracking clothing by the pound – so they're definitely not for large users. Because they use smaller loads, these machines use water less efficiently than the larger designs.

Most of these designs are about 2" wide, and come with dual hot and cold water connections, or an optional sink connector, and an optional caster-kit.

Haier’s Combo Washer and Dryer Key Features

Haier 's last category of washer-and-dryer is the all-in-one model, or combo washer/dryer. This model is designed to be the ultimate convenience machine, letting you throw a load of dirty laundry in, turn it on, and come back to find clean, fresh smelling laundry.

These machines, like dryers, are front loaders, which may make them inconvenient in cramped spaces. Like the compact washers, they have smaller loads than the high capacity designs mentioned above, and they have additional engineering requirements.

They run at varying RPM levels to centripetally pull the water from clothes while a heating element runs, and they range in capacity from a 14 lb capacity model, with an 800 RPM cycle, to an 11 lb capacity model with an 800 RPM cycle, to an 11 lb capacity model that has an incredible 1100 RPM cycle to dry clothes quickly.

Haier 's attention to detail applies to these models as well, with the touch screen controls and several modes for washing your clothes and preserving their appearance. You spend a lot of money on your clothes – it only makes sense to take the time to care for them properly, and Haier machines are here to help you do just that.
