Gain for HE Washing Machines

While HE (High Efficiency) laundry detergents are not widely available, I haven't had any trouble finding one I really like. Gain for High Efficiency Washing Machines (Liquid version), (aka, Gain for Front Loading Machines), has proven to be among the best of the HE detergents on the market. Not only does it provide superior stain fighting capability but it also has the pleasant Gain smell that I favored in the days before my High Efficiency washing machine. There aren't many HE detergents to choose from and I have been sorely disappointed with the competitions attempts at recapturing the qualities of their original detergents in a high efficiency version. Most do not perform well at stain removal which means another spin through the washer. At that point, I feel it defeats the purpose of the high efficiency and energy saving benefits of using a HE detergent. I have also found that other HE detergents have a strange, fake smell, the kind you would find in a generic brand detergent. Gain HE is also by far more affordable than the other brands available and offers a powdered and liquid version. And while HE detergents are generally more expensive per ounce than regular detergents, Gain HE is a great value and is comparable in price to its regular detergent counterparts. Overall, I would recommend Gain HE to anyone who has a High Efficiency front loading washer. It’s the best value available for HE washers.
