Sorting socks

by Lisa
(UK)

The best laundry tip I have to keep track of your socks is to buy a mesh bag and place your socks in the bag as you remove them. This way you won't be looking for matches all over the place. It's in the bag, baby!

Sorting Socks
by: Anonymous

Another tip to simplify sorting socks is to buy each person in the household multiple pairs of one style of sock. That way even if one goes missing, there are many mates left.

I did this several years ago, and it has saved many hours of sorting socks. I no longer fold the matching socks together, either. Each person gets an unfolded pile of their socks to put away. An added bonus is that the ankle of the socks don't get stretched out from being folded over each other! :)

Agreed!

Absolutely, I do this all the time. It's a huge time saver, and makes the sock pairing much more efficient.

Washing the socks
by: Anonymous

When you wash your socks make sure they are turned rightside out so the dirt on the sock is not washed into the sock fabric. I also agree that you should put all your socks in the laundry bag to wash them together and keep them together so when they are in the dryer they don't static cling to shirts and get lost in the load.

missing socks?
by: Lindsay

I alway do my laundry at the laundromat and I can't tell you how many times I've come back home only to find a sock missing. Thanks for providing a great solution to this... I swear sometimes I think the dryer eats my socks... there is always one missing after almost every load I do.
