Rowenta Professional DX8800 Iron with Auto Shut-off

This iron is the best that I have ever used. It steams better than I ever imagined. You can use it horizontally or vertically with equal success. It has extra long bursts of steam and is anti-drip. I have to steam and iron a lot because I’m a sewer. This iron makes ironing an easy task.

It offers ergonomic controls, a 3-way auto shut-off, an extra large water tank in which you can actually use tap water, not just distilled water, and lots of other features. When ironing in the dry position it doesn’t drip any water onto your clothing. My old iron always leaked even when in the dry position. So the Rowenta is perfect for ironing silk since there is no chance of water spots that would ruin the material.

The vertical steam option is perfect for steaming fabrics that are on a dress form. The polished stainless steel soleplate makes it glide over fabrics, and around buttons and seams, it doesn’t drag at all.

This iron is well worth the price. I actually asked for this iron as a Christmas present last year. After seeing how well the Rowenta Professional DX8800 Iron with Auto Shut-off performs my daughter has now added it to her wedding registry.

This iron performs very well. It’s very solid and the steam comes out of the unit very fluidly and evenly no matter which steam setting you’re using. The auto shut off is a nice option to have. I no longer have to worry about whether or not I turned off my iron after I’ve already left the house.

I would recommend this iron to anyone that needs to replace their iron. I will never go back to the “bargain” irons again. My Rowenta makes ironing a breeze.

Pros:
- stainless steel soleplate
- excellent steaming

Cons:
- pricey
- heavy

Rating:
5 out of 5

Great Iron!!
by: Laurel

I absolutely love this iron! It is heavier than some, but that's o.k.-it feels expensive, not cheap and flimsy, and is well worth the money. I'm one of those nutty people who loves to iron(there ARE more of you out there, aren't there?)Lots of steam makes this iron a breeze to get out wrinkles and I love the automatic shut-off feature(sometimes I wish my husband had this feature). Happy ironing!!

Awful. Paid a lot, drips and doesn't heat up after 6 months... Now searching for a new iron.
