End the missing sock dilemma!

Whenever my children take their socks off, I safety pin them together so that they can't be lost. This works great; I haven't had alost sock in months since I began this system.

Also, if you have children that have similar size socks like I do, write their initials on the socks in permanent marker on the toe area. This way, you'll never have to guess who the socks belong to!

I love the idea of pinning the socks together. I also agree with several children having the same socks, and marking the socks. Rather than writing the initials, I put a small black dot from a permanent marker on the heel or toe. I have two children, so the youngest has socks marked. If you have more than two children, you will have to put initials like you suggested.

I love this idea! I have been wearing socks with different color strips and toes, but always seem to lose one. I will try this tonight. Do you find that it leaves holes after a few washes due to stretching?

That is a good idea. I never thought of that. My son has lost so many socks, and he looses his sisters socks to. She is only 8 months old and most of her socks are gone. My husband likes to steal my socks cause he can't find his own. I will definitely have to try this. Hopefully our socks won't keep disappearing.

I've also tried both of these things and although safety pinning takes a bit more time in the beginning, it saves a lot of time digging thru laundry finding matches after the wash.

Great idea! I'll have to start doing that. I have a lot of socks that look nearly the same and inevitably end up going missing. Maybe they fall behind the hamper or the washer, but by clipping them together we can avoid that entirely.
