Plus Points

Excellent spin cycle leaves your wash barely damp before it goes into the dryer which will significantly reduce your dry time. This will save you money on your energy bill.

The machine has an extra large capacity which enables you to get more wash done in less time.

The controls on the machine are simple to use and the cleaning job that it does on your whites is amazing.

Minus Points

Some users of this machine have experienced problems. The problems most often found were with load balance, and isolated cases of defective circuit board.

This machine will cut your laundry time in half with the extra large capacity machine and super spin cycle. In the end, the machine will save you time, money and a lot of frustration. The machine is a bit more pricey than other models, but you will find that it lasts a good deal longer and is worth the extra investment.

Consider your space when you are choosing your washing machine. If you are sliding the Whirpool WTW6400 into an existing space, you should take some measurements before you buy. The machine is a large capacity machine so make sure that there is adequate room for it in your laundry room. On the other hand, the large capacity will give you enough room to wash your sheets and a batch of towels at the same time. Anyone who faces a pile of laundry in their home understands the benefits of larger load capacity.

There is an optional clear lid so you can watch the machine work, which is a great way to see at a glance your clothing being washed super clean. You will also get a saving on your water bill as well with this machine. The Whirlpool WTW6400 uses less water in your wash and this will have an impact on your water bill along with your electric or gas bill for your dryer.

Final Thought

Consider the dryer as well when you pick up this Whirlpool washer. The pair is amazing when used together on your laundry. Expect quiet operation from this pair of machines. You might have to check and see if they are actually on. That's how quiet they really are.

keeps breaking
by: Anonymous

I have had to have someone out 2 times to fix it. The 3rd time it broke for something different and they wanted more money to fix it than it was worth. The 3rd time Whirlpool would do nothing to help with the problem because it was out of the one year warranty. The tub floats up to wash but it is supposed to sink back down to spin.

It won't go back down and gets off balance every load even when it is empty. You have to try multiple times to spin it out. My old washer I had for @20 years and never had a problem with it but this one was supposed to be so wonderful and it has been problematic. I am so disappointed because I liked the fact that I spent less time doing laundry than with the smaller tub sizes.

so so so disappointed
by: S.ROY

I am so so disappointed. My electrical panel on my washer went mechanical on me last wk. I wk later im still waiting for a replacement. Paid 225$ to have an extended warranty, only to find out that the replacement parts are "recycled/rebuilt", they are NOT NEW parts. And the technician told me that he had never seen a problem like this. NOT to reassuring. Called customer support for advise and help and they were willing to give me a check of 50.00 (good will gesture) what a joke. I told them i dont want your $$$ i want my washer back.... Whirlpool you've disappointed me and i will NOT trust your service anymore.

Not worth it
by: Anonymous

Pros: large capacity, and good cleaning power.

Cons: Nothing but problems. From the beginning it had control board issues. Whirlpool fixed twice at no cost(so guess it could be a positive?)

Now 3 years into ownership it is throwing oil out onto the floor and sounds like a jet engine when in the spin cycle. I'm anticipating the day it will stop functioning so I can justify tossing it out the door! Lots of rust inside cabinet also. Considering the quality or lack of in this washer, I don't feel that I would ever be interested in purchasing a whirlpool product again.
