For a better wash. I never mix my colored clothes with the white clothes also. I do agree regarding the baking soda it is good to wash in. It also removes odor out of clothes really well.

Always the way to go - never mix the colours! For best results I would suggest using Baking Soda for whites. It helps to keep them white without having a bad effect on the environment.
I don't really understand why you would not use Softener for coloured clothes though?

I think everybody do this..separate colored clothes from white ones because some colored clothes might stain your other clothes..And dont put to much clothes in washing machine because when it gets heavy it might not spin..

I have always used liquid softener on every single load and have never had color fade happen except for when the wrong tempurature is used. Check the fabric tag for proper wash temp.

I agree about not using fabric softener with the colors, it can make the colors fade and/or bleed.
