Roper Model RTW4340SQ0

by Dorothy
(Keyser WV)

My family and I own the Roper Washing machine. We bought this machine in May of 2007 after our home burned and we lost everything.

We shopped several different stores for a washing machine that gave high capacity, was heavy duty, and would easily handle our family of 6 laundry plus the laundry of my father in law.

We didn't know very much about the Roper brand name, nor at the time, did we know that it was connected to Whirlpool. We had started our search initially for a Whirlpool but many were priced outside our budget range.

We were shopping at Lowes in Cumberland,Md and was greeted by a sales representative who took us around and showed us the variety of washing machines they offered. The Roper was right up there with Whirlpool as far as quality, capacity, etc.

From the time I washed my first load of clothes I was a very happy housewife. This machine has never let us down, it has handled very large loads of clothes easily. We recommend this machine to everyone we talk with who are looking into a new washing machine.

Rinse cycle NEW
by: Anonymous

This washing machine has such a low water level in the rinse cycle that you have to stop machine before the rinse cycle starts & set the machine for a new wash cycle. So much for water conservation! The machine should be replaced by Roper or whoever makes it.

Thank God it's only a rental!

This is easily the worst washing machine I've ever dealt with. I didn't buy it; it came with my apartment, and I'm seriously thinking about purchasing my own to replace it. Problem 1: It's LOUD. My laundry hookups are just inside the garage door, open to the kitchen/living area (very open floor plan). If I'm running the washer, I'm doing nothing else -- no TV, no music, no conversations. The washer's sound drowns everything out (and volumes where I can hear anything means the neighbors can, too!). 2) "Gentle" cycle isn't. It has torn up two quilts and several sweaters. It runs at normal speed for a minute, then quits for a minute. Dear Roper: That ain't gentle. 3) I live alone and do 3 loads a week. I did 2 loads in my old Maytag, but this one can't handle the same amount of clothes. Avoid if you can!!!!

good 4 price
by: jo

I bought this a month ago...it was very low priced. maybe because my old machine was so loud, i dont notice if my roper is loud? just seems normal 2 me..washes good..the only thing i DONT like is the rinse cycle's water is low..kinda hard to use a liquid softener! even tho the rinse water is low..i havent noticed soapy clothes..i dont no how it does on a blanket tho. the wash water level is kinda lowish.
