Purex Ultra Concentrate

by Mandy
(Boise, ID)

We first started buying Purex Ultra Concentrate laundry detergent when I was pregnant because I couldn't stand the smell of other laundry detergents.

It was one of the best priced ones and the Free & Clear has no scent at all. After we had the baby, though, we continued to use it because it's safe to use on our baby's clothes too, since it's free of perfumes and of dyes.

It's ultra concentrated, so you don't have to use as much for each load, but it still packs a punch. Our clothes always come out smelling fresh and not like a bunch of lavender or a mountain spring (or so they claim)!

And it's very well priced. At about six dollars for a 32 load bottle, it's three dollars cheaper than Tide. In this day and age, with the economy going downhill, little things like a well priced laundry detergent are important to me.

And with a four month old baby and a husband, I do a lot of laundry! So, I'm very happy to have a detergent that fits all my needs - cleans well, lasts long, has a reasonable price and doesn't stink!

I would definitely recommend Purex Ultra Concentrate Free & Clear to anyone!

Oily spots on clothes
by: Anonymous

I usually go for a bargain but I paid 3$ a bottle when it came on sale after Christmas . BIG MISTAKE . Oily spots on my clothes EVERY LOAD. What gives? I love the scent and price but I hate laundry so having to re wash sucked. Don't waste your time and money. Went back to tide free and clear and no problems, tried Pyrex with zout as it came on sale and spots on the shirts that were not there before washing. Guess you really get what you pay for. On a positive note it didn't irritate my daughters skin, we usually have to use tide free for her. So back to tide free for us

what????????
by: Anonymous

hello! Has anyone else out there noticed the strange switch of scents from purex? I've been using this stuff for years with no complaints until now. They seemed to change the smells to a weird strange smell. Now the only one I'll use is the Rain scent. It's the only one they saved. I think they're just trying to keep up with marketing. But it will make them lose out in the end. Plus it has gone up in price too. BLAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

My Experience
by: Brenda B

I have been using Purex prodcts for years and was a little skeptical when they came out with the concentrate. No longer! I love this product. The concentrate goes further and Purex is very economical. My husband's clothes get pretty grungy, but they come out just fine. You know that depending on the stain, it may not come out regardless of what kind of detergent you use.

Not the same result
by: Lyn

I did not have the same result with the Purex product line. I started buy this brand because it is usually one of the least expensive brands. Unfortunately, I got what I paid for. I found that my clothes were still somewhat dirty when the came out of the washer. Especially on my husband's clothes which tend to be a bit more dirty than mine. Now that I have switched brands, I have much cleaner clothes.
