Kenmore Elite Oasis Canyon capacity 27082

I purchased the Kenmore Oasis about a month and a half ago. The Oasis is a top loading washing machine, which is what I needed since my back gave out a few months back and bending isn't what I need to be doing.

The first thing I noticed about this Kenmore was that it is much quieter than my old washer (although I had that Frigidaire for about fifteen years).

The other major thing I noticed about my new machine was that when my clothes were done washing, they weren't sopping wet like I was used to.

They were still wet but this machine somehow has a feature that must squeeze excess water out somehow. This is good because they don't have to spend as long in the dryer.

My favorite thing about this machine was the fact that it was able to accomodate my entire household's colored clothes in one shot.

That's something that would have been impossible to do with my old machine. This machine was far from cheap but so far I have had no problems at all with it.

It was quite heavy to move but as long as you have the people deliver it and tip them a few bucks to put it in your house, that shouldn't be much of a worry.

I have only ran 4 loads through this machine and am already thinking I am going to return it. It does not get clothes clean. Simple dirt spots that would have come out with my old top loader are left in the clothes.

The idea of the extra large tub was appealing, but when I watched the clothes through the optional glass lid, I saw that the machine was unable to turn the clothes over so some of them never really got washed. I did not have the machine over loaded.

Front load machines wont fit in the space I have to work with, so I am going back to a conventional top loader.

Last summer, after 15 years of use, our old Kenmore washing machine was ready for retirement. So, we chose a newer model Kenmore washing machine. We checked out all the models at our local Sears retail store and decided upon the Kenmore Elite Oasis (He) with Canyon Capacity.

It is a top loading washing machine without an agitator. It spins the laundry and sprays them with a wash solution and rinse solution. So, the clothes never soak in dirty water. We bought it last year and have had nothing less than great performance from the washing machine.

It has the "QuietPak 9" feature and is nothing like our old washing machine. The detergent (which has to be "He" type), bleach and fabric softener are mixed with water before they are sprayed on the laundry during the different cycles.

So, there's no worry about those surprising spots from errant bleach spots or fabric softener. The "Canyon Capacity" is great for family size loads of towels during the summer and bulky jeans and sweaters in the winter. The capacity is at least forty percent more than our old traditional top loading washing machine. Another great feature is the express wash function that washes a typical load in thirty-eight minutes (more or less).

I use the express wash on my daughter's sportswear and it easily gives them a quick wash without the extra time for a traditional load of cotton colors. The lid for the washing machine has a large glass insert that keeps my daughter fascinated with seeing the spraying during the wash and rinse cycles and the super-jet spin cycles. The controls are easy to read and a great balance of a digital dial and push button. The controls allow for many different options include an extra spin or pre-soaking.

I was worried when we bought the washing machine because it requires "He" detergent and the selection was limited at the time. But now, almost all brands of detergent are available in He varieties. I find it easily on the shelves at, not only the major discount retailers (Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target), but also at the drug store chains and smaller retail outlets.

Compared to our old washing machine, this new Kenmore Elite Oasis model is definitely cutting edge technology that's practical for a family.

Just did 10 loads with our new Oasis Ht3 top loader washer and dryer and both are very quiet and do an excellent job washing and drying.

Was concerned washer wouldn't work well because base doesn't have wash blade that comes up to spin clothing, but it didn't need it after all.

The only issue with the dryer is, that when you want to steam clothing and avoid ironing, you can only put 3 or 4 items in at a time. Looks modern, easy to operate, saves energy, washes king size comforter with room to spare!

I purchased this washing machine after my old one broke from age and use, and I love it. It is used by five people on a regular basis and has performed well thus far, easily handling large loads of laundry. It cuts down the number of loads I do each week because it can hold so much - even bulky bedding fits in without problems! It is easy to use with nice interface that allows you to choose exactly what settings you're looking for, and is fairly quiet.

It is also an Energy Star appliance, which saves on water and electricity, which not only helps the environment, but helps you save money on your water and electric bills.

It also has a timer which is very convenient - you'll always know how long you have until the load will be done, freeing you to do other tasks without having to constantly check the washer.

One problem with this washer is how wrinkled the clothes can be when they come out of the wash. On lower cycles this is less of a problem but it is inconvenient to have to deal with.

Overall I think this is a good washer for people with lots of laundry and not a lot of time to do load after load.

Kenmore Elite Oasis HE

I purchased my new washing machine new from Sears about one year ago and I have been really happy with the results! I tried to do my research before buying this machine and I found mixed reviews about the new front load washers.

I really wanted a washing machine that would do large loads and be very durable and reliable. With the help of the salesman at Sears, my husband and I decided on the Kenmore Elite Oasis HE. It is one of those super capacity washers. It does not have the agitator and has a huge drum.

I can not tell you how many clothes you can put in there or how much time it saves! With a family of five, I appreciate anything that can cut down on my time spent in the laundry room. With this washing machine, I am able to wash large loads including blankets, even king size. It has a variety of different washing cycles and settings so that I can set it to meet the needs of whatever I am washing.

It also seems to be a very reliable machine, as I have had no problems with it to this point. I don't have as much trouble with it getting unlevel and it has never seized up like my old machine did. Even though you can put a lot of clothes in it, when I try and stuff it too full it will get unlevel and start hopping around, but it is my own fault in that, I know I probably shouldn’t have shoved those last two pairs of pants in there.

The salesman also pointed out that with no agitator, it was easier on the clothes and kept them looking newer longer. I think I can tell a difference, but I am not sure since with three boys nothing lasts very long. I also like that it is energy efficient.

One thing I don't like is the laundry detergent is not as easy to find. I am starting to see it more and more now, but it seems to be a little more expensive. In my opinion it is worth it.

I am very happy with my new washing machine and I would definitely recommend it to family and friends.

Kenmore Elite Oasis #27082

I have owned my Kenmore Elite Oasis for almost 2 years and have had the following problems:

1. Frequent minor leaking which the service tech could not recreate.

2. The hinges for the cover broke off.

3. The control board had to be replaced.

These problems aside, it is Sear's service that is really horrible. I purchased the Master Service Agreement which cost me almost $300 dollars and yet after 4 weeks and 2 "service" cancellations, my machine is still not working and I am fed up with Sear's products and service.

STAY AWAY from the Master Service Agreement, it offers no satisfaction!!!
