Homedics PS-200 Commercial Garment Steamer
by KMiLL
I purchased a Homedics PS-200 Commercial Garment steamer I guess a year ago or so. My first impression out of the box was less than stellar. It was smaller than I envisioned. However, my opinion was quickly changed once I saw how it performed. I will touch both on the positives and negatives. First the positives. It produced steam very quickly. This was important because if you were ever in a hurry, and you needed to wrinkle free a garment, you didn’t want to have to wait around for steam to be produced. The second was that the hose did not kink. I have seen steamers which get a tie up in their hose, which caused the product to fail. It did a really good job on really light fabrics. It took the wrinkles out pretty quickly!
And now for the negatives! First of all, the hose was way too short. Trying to steam a garment on a hanger which is five to six feet to the top of the garment was a tough duty. So while the hose didn’t kink, it certainly didn’t reach anywhere I really needed to go. This caused severe issues with trying to steam my drapes. Needless to say, it was an impossible chore! Second was that it didn't really remove wrinkles from heavier garments. I pulled out some winter clothing to try and see if I could fresh it up a bit. I pulled out mostly big sweaters and fleeces. It had a hard time being able to get the wrinkles out. And finely, the conclusion of the product was that of the product itself. It stopped working. Out of the blue, it just stopped. Overall, I would say the product wasn’t a complete loss, but definitely wouldn’t be something I would purchase again. I think the next time I buy one, I’ll be sure to buy it locally so that I can be sure to see what I am getting. Also, I’ll read more reviews like mine, to make the correct choice when purchasing!
