GE Front loading HydroHeater

by Michele
(Benton, Arkansas)

I bought this washer about a year ago. This is by far the best washer I have ever owned. It is very quiet and very efficient. It has a large load capacity. I have even washed my comforter in it with no problems.

There are several different soil levels as well as different temperatures including a sanitizinf option.

There are several different modes such as whites, colors, gentle, stains etc. It is very quiet and my clothes have never been cleaner. It also has a place for both liquid or dry detergents as well as a place to add fabric softener to be dispensed at the appropriate time during the cycle.

I absolutely love this washer and sorry I didn't purchase it sooner.

Please do yourself a favor, DON'T BUY!!!!! NEW

I have never been this affected by such a frustrating piece of metal!!!!! This machine does not , I MEAN DOESS NOT, let you manipulate it whatsoever! For instance let's say you really need it to hurry because you need to leave like yesterday and you need your clothes spin and out of wash into dryer! Nope, have to wait another 14 min for the drain and spin cycle and if your load is too big it will just keep rotating without EVER spinning so you end up waiting even longer! Real piece of crap!@!!

Bad bad washer NEW
by: Tresana

Bought a nice condo, seller left the GE HydroHeater washer...now I know why. Constantly shaking like the world is coming to an end. Put in two sheets--Queen--and one doesn't spin dry worth a darn.
Get something else folks, save the stress.

Worst washing machine ever! Deserves negative rating! NEW
by: Shelia

One problem after another. Sometimes it wont spin out the clothes, sometimes it will. It has the L_O_N_G_E_S_T wash cycles ever. NO short cycles. Hate it and wouldn't want my worst enemy to buy it!

GE worst washer ever NEW
by: Anonymous

This is the worst washer I have ever had. It will not drain water from clothes properly. It gets off balance with every load and sounds like the house is coming down. I have to pause the cycle, move the items around and restart. A wash cycle that is set for 40 minutes takes about 2 hours.
It stinks.

ge front load hydro heater washer wcvh6800
by: jun de oro

I don't if we're talking about the same Model but so far I don't have the problems that most consumers have had with this washer.May be they're too inpatient. They want their wash to be done quickly. If you have balance problem, you have to adjust the level screw at the bottom of the washer. You have to make sure that the door is closed before you press the start button. To avoid wrinkle you have to sort your wash so you can use the proper spin option. For example,if your wash is delicate you select low spin,if your wash is towels and jeans you select medium or high spins and you have to wait for the wash to be completed before you open the door.I hope this will help you who are having problems with this washer.

poor performance for big price tag
by: Anonymous

This was my first new washer ever! I saved and paid hard earned money for the best reviewed washer I could afford. As others have commented, I had to have repair men out within a couple of months. It was under warranty, but then after a year the warranty was expired but the problems were not. I have just purchased a new mother board to run the washer. It stopped running after filling up with water, locking the door, and sitting., both with the new mother board and with the washer before the new board. Such a pain, so I hope that no one else will purchase this awful washer.

Our HydroHeather is horrid
by: Anonymous

If I put more than 3 towels in ours the washload comes out SOPPING wet. I'm so disappointed in this washer. There's no way I can put a large capacity of clothes in it. Maybe something is wrong with is but it's really been a disappointment.

I can't figure out how to get my clothes to come out so wrinkeld. I am not having the balance problem that alot of costomers have mentioned. I just am sick of having to iron every thing now.

Such a pain!
by: Terann

Sounds like being off-balance might be my problem too. I have a GE Hydroheater, Front loading washer. It has never worked quite right. At first, it occasionally wouldn't complete a full cycle without me restarting it. Lately, I have to restart each load 3-5 times. It is taking way too long to do laundry. Often, I have also had to run loads through the spin and drain cycle after they should have been done because the clothes or towels were still wet. VERY FRUSTRATING!

It's Worthless
by: Anonymous

I agree with those who are disappointed in the GE Hydroheater. It gets good marks from consumer panels. But, it goes off balance to the point where you have to make service calls to re-balance it. Once the warranty is up, you have to pay for those service calls. Very disappointing. It can't even wash a set of queen sheets without having a problem, just 1 set!

Hydroheater a piece of garbage
by: Anonymous

I have owned this washer since July, 2009. In the past, I've owned Kenmore, Whirlpool & LG. Save your money. This washer can't handle washing more that a few towels at a time before it spins itself off it's own axis. I have had GE out to service this washer 5 times due to off balance problems. Piece of garbage, don't buy it.

waste of money
by: Anonymous

within the first two months had to have a repair man come to fix the major water leak due to objects from the wash made it to the plastic drain tube. know a little over a year later it will not spin during a normal wash cycle have to put on drain and spin ever time a load of cloth is done.
