To help get extra soft and cling free clothes, add two or more dryer sheets to your dryer. Make sure that you clean the lint trap. SOmetimes I add the lint to the dryer to add a unique smell. Try it.
Well! it's a good tip of soaking the clothes in the water. Nice blog. I guess the tip really works. You know website have cloth washing as an upcoming topic of discussion. In which different types of fabrics and their washing is discussed in detail. You can find so much in there.

Chemical Suicide by: Ken
The chemicals in dryer sheets are toxic. VERY toxic. Using one is bad enough, using two or three is, well, just plain stupid.

STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES... by: Anonymous
That post by Jordan about putting lint back into a new load was obviously a joke!!! I knew it when I read it! That's the equivalent of taking a dump and eating it with your next meal. Don't be so stupid people...use your brain before using the computer.
But if you want a real tip, try using motor oil on a carpet stain and then soak it up with dryer sheets, works wonders!!!

Not a good idea by: Anonymous
Yes dryer sheets make your clothes soft and fluffy. But they also make them less absorbant. If you do this with your towels they will not soak up the water like they should when you dry off. Also when you use fabric softener it leaves a film on your dryer vent that could clog up and possibly start a fire.

I haven't heard of using dryer sheets for static hair. I will have to try this tip.

Dryer Sheets AND Fabric Softener by: Anonymous
I use two types of Fabric Softener (A fresh scent and Vanilla, Vanilla goes with anything) in the wash and a Dryer Sheet when drying. I have the BEST smelling clothes possible.

Love em by: Anonymous
I use dryer sheets everytime I do the wash. My clothes feel so much softer and smell much better. I have to go to a laundromat and the washers and dryers don't always smell great. I will buy ones from the laudromat when I forget to bring my own...they're THAT important.

I have also read that dryer sheets arent so good. add vinagar to the wash will soften clothing. and the balled up foil will take away static cling. and save money too.

Do not try this at home by: Anonymous
I tried adding the lint to my clothes in the dryer and I will never do that again! All I got was a pile of clothes with lint all over them. I don't reccommend anyone else trying this.

I highly recommend dryer sheets, especially for towels. Reduces static, makes towels especially, smell wonderful! Good for cleaning around the house as well! I use 2 for larger loads. They come in different scents, which is nice!

Dryer Sheets by: Anonymous
Used dryer sheets are great dust removers and help prevent static. Use on computers, tv's, mini blinds. Also use on pets when storms are approaching. It removes static from their fur and helps to calm pets (Marth Stewart tip). I've saved up used sheets and made wreaths. Very pretty and smell so good.

Like several people here, I often use 1 sheet per load of laundry or 2 sheets for bedsheets or larger laundry loads. I love the fresh clean smell!

Dryer sheets are great for scent also by: Anonymous
I like to use dryer sheets to mask any odor of worn clothes in my clothes hamper until laundry day. I just toss one in the hamper and its like an air freshener for my unwashed laundry.

Just 1 dryer Sheet by: Anonymous
Just 1 dryer sheet suffices. It takes the static out of the clothes and does not overwhelm with the scent. And, yes plese be sure to take out the dryer sheet, makes great dust sheet, and always clean the lint filter.

Not in love with dryer sheets by: Anonymous
I am not in love with dryer sheets. But I do agree cleaning the lint trap is very important. I heard a washer/dryer repairman mention that not too long ago. He said most people don't clean them and it is important that you do.

Not for Towels by: Anonymous
Dryer sheets add a film to your clothes, and they make your towels lets absorbent. I avoid using them all together, they really don't do that much, and its just extra money you're spending for no reason.

Very dangerous if you have kids!! by: Misty
Drier sheets are bad to begin with because they make clothing HIGHLY flamable!! Plus it creats so much build up in your drier & creats a fire hazard!!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not use drier sheets!!
if you are having a static issue take a piece of Aluminum Foil & ball it up about the size of a Baseball.. throw it in with your clothes! NO STATIC!!
if it is softness.. try adding white vinegar to your wash in the rinse cycle.. Works GREAT! Plus it cleans your clothes of the nasty soap build up!
Hope this helps someone!!

Why would anyone want to add LINT? by: Andi
Lint is what comes OFF the clothes when they are dried. Why anyone would want to add the lint back into the dryer boggles my mind. The best thing you can do with lint is get it out of the lint trap. A clogged lint trap is dangerous. While you've got the trap out, wash it with soap and water--you'd be surprised at how much gunk comes off if you use dryer sheets or fabric softener. I like the clean smell and softness of dryer sheets, but hate the cost. I've begun cutting them in half, and it still gives me that smell and softness, as well as the static free clothes I like.
If you doubt that lint buildup in the lint trap is dangerous, take it outside into a safe place and hold a match to it. FOOF! It will go up fast, so watch your knuckle hairs. Many camping enthusiasts keep the lint from their dryers in a zip lock bag to use as a fire starter in damp weather.

Caution! by: Michele
I tried this for a few loads, then noticed that my dryer was overheating and shutting off. After vacuuming out around the dryer and making sure the exhaust hose was clear, my husband found the culprit. Some of the dryer sheets had clogged the vent inside the drum. Make sure that you are getting out as many dryer sheets as you are putting in! (Apparently they don't go to the same happy place the missing socks do!)

Hard on the lint trap by: Anonymous
I do like the fact that a couple of dryer sheets will help freshen a load of laundry a bit more. Sometimes I do this with particularly heavy loads, like jeans or towels. One should use caution though. Using a lot of dryer sheets can clog the lint trap with residual dryer sheet 'stuff' which needs to be cleaned out with soap and hot water to prolong the life of the dryer.

What a mess! by: Ally
Adding lint to my load created extra laundry for me to do! It was a waste of time and energy. Also, Adding more dryer sheets just seemed like a waste of sheets. I didn't notice any improved softness from that tip.

not too helpful...created more work for me! by: Anonymous
I agree that adding an extra dryer sheet to a load in the dryer can add more softness and freshness to a load. However, I tried adding some of the lint to the load, and had to rewash that load because the lint stuck to most of the clothes. Keeping the lint trap clean doesn't seem to add to softness, but keeps drying time down to a minimum. Good advice, just don't add unnecessary lint to a load!
