I absolutely love this dryer. It runs very quiet which is nice because our laundry area is in the hallway between our bedroom and our toddler and baby's bedroom. We have the 6.5 cu.ft. and let me tell you, I can load this thing FULL.
We have a California King size bed and sleep all year long with this huge fleece blanket the same size as the mattress and it fits in the dryer with the bed sheets and takes about 30 minutes to dry. I wash huge loads to cut down on energy usage so I probably over stuff the dryer and the loads still take about 1 hour to dry. I've only ever used the ENERGY SAVE setting.
My mom's dryer takes anywhere from an hour and a half to two hours to dry the same size load, I used to live with her. We've had it now about a year and I trust the brand now that I'm going to buy an Admiral washer. Maytag makes Admiral appliances.
When we bought the dryer, we were low on money and basically looking for the cheapest dryer made by a reliable company in the size we needed. We paid around 400, which was one of the least expensive. Because the parent company is Maytag, we figured it would be okay. It was around the price we could afford.
I am pretty hard on the dryer because I dry huge loads trying to cut back and because I have a newborn I dry often. What I like most is the dry time depends on the size of the load. Other dryers have basic timed settings.
All I have to do is turn it to ENERGY SAVE and walk away. Small loads only take 20-30 minutes to dry. It seems that the dryer senses that because it kicks it's self off as soon as the clothes are dry. I've never looked up the meaning so I think that's what the setting is suppose to do, not just the washer.
I highly recommend this dryer and brand. I know every time how long my load will take and I can even wash and dry my work clothes at the last minute because of baby puke.
