Windfresh Super Concentrated Powder (200 loads)

by Lorraine
(Belleville, MI USA)

"Windfresh"

You can purchase this laundry bucket at Sam's Club, and while it is value priced compared to Tide, All or Surf; there is a quality issue here.

It is an extremely low-sudsing powder. Yes, the basic line is that it does provide for clean clothing and articles, but you are tempted to use a LOT more than just the one recommended scoop (provided in container).

So the question is, are you really getting 200 loads out of each bucket? The answer that I have discovered on my own is... NO!

This detergent is not quite up to my standards, but it does whiten the white clothes as needed. I have used a half scoop more than is recommended, and have also used some form of liquid laundry soap in addition.

It does not smell "wind fresh" as the name would imply either. As a matter of fact, it doesn't provide a "clean" scent. While the scent is hard to describe, I would akin the scent to "slightly mildewy." That's not really an appealing smell to have on your clean clothes is it?

Sam's club can (and sometimes does) deliver some very good quality merchandise for consumer's that are trying to stretch dollars. In the case of this generic laundry detergent, it is my opinion, that it is better to spend a little more money to get a better value.

Windfresh is the best way to save money
by: Heather

We were very loyal to Tide for 15 years. We recently switched to Windfresh from Sam's club. We pair it with snuggles fab. softner from Sam's. Our clothes are so clean. I always dissolve it in a little warm water then turn it to cold. It comes with a scoop half the size of Tide's. I just use my old Tide scoop. The price comparison per pound is this. Windfresh..approx. .47 per/lb and Tide is approx. 1.47/lb. So it is a great way to save for our family of 5. It's not a sudsy soap like liquid detergent, but the water is nice and soapy. Our whites look great and we don't have soft water.

Love it!!
by: Barbara

I love this det. I have 2 teen boys and a husband that is always getting filty. This det does an excellent job, Pair it with Downy from sams and your really save and your clothes are clean and smell great. I had overnight guests who complimented on the towels, how wonderful they smell...I was an average of 2 to 3 loads a day...it will last me several months.

I'm sold!
by: Nichole

I have been using this detergent for over 5 years now and I just love it. The price is awesome (roughly $13 at Sam's) and it will last me for a minimum of 3 months. I have a family of four and I'm doing at least 1 load of laundry per day. It does NOT leave my clothes smelling "mildewy". Perhaps you left your clothes in the washer a little too long. My clothes smell more on the citrus side and they are clean...I mean, really clean. This is the only detergent I will use. Oh, and it doesn't irritate my husband's sensitive skin. Added bonus!
