White Socks Turned Pink? Don't worry!

One trick I learned when I once accidently put in a bright pink shirt with some whites, is that most of your whites can be restored! Put in JUST the whites in the washer again, but this time add bleach. It won't heal all mishaps, but it did help some!

About white's turned pink....
by: sky

It's very true about re-washing the whites to get the "pink" out - but for those of us who don't like using bleach, it's okay! Just throw in more laundry detergent (with laundry booster additive if you want) in a load with just the whites and 9 times out of 10 the red will come out anyway! Remember to do this before the drying process - once it's been put through the dryer, it's very hard to get the dye out.

Bleach is great!
by: Anonymous

Bleach is great for this, especially if you notice the mistake immediately and can rewash your whites before they dry! If I have accidentally dried them though I'll wash them again with bleach, then wash them a second time with regular soap detergent, it seems to help.

Dish Washer Liquid
by: Anonymous

Another thing that I find that helps whites that have turned pink is to use Sun Light liquid dish washer soap. Use hot or warm water and let the the washer rotate for a few minutes. Through in the whites and let soak for several minutes then put through a regular cycle. It will work. I have done it before.
