The Whirlpool WTW7800XW abounds in features that make laundry an activity that saves energy, water, and in turn, time and money. The good stuff is all in this machine: ENERGY STAR qualified, CEE Tier 3, 6th Sense technology, Precision Dispense Plus, H2Low wash system and Auto Load Sensing. All these features allow you to use only the right amount of water and electricity based on the load that you are going to put into this top loading washer. With its transparent washer lid, you can be amazed at how hardworking and efficient this machine is. You definitely can't go wrong with the good points of this efficient and strong washer.

Interior Features

The control panel is also equipped with a LED Basket Light and a LED display screen that lets you see all the controls that have been used for a particular cycle.

    Buyer Beware!!
    by: Anonymous

My wife purchased the Cabrio model # WTW77800xwo a little over a year ago and at first it worked fine. After a few months it started getting the F-51 error code. At first we could reset it and it would finish the load. My wife thought it was due to the larger loads of laundry at the time, we have 4 kids. The error became more frequent, it did not matter what size load. We called Whirlpool and they were no help. They told me that there is nothing that they could do and it would cost $350 to fix. I told them that I would just buy another machine and will never buy another whirlpool product!!! If you want to buy Whirlpool good luck, they do not stand behind there products!!

    darks to be washed twice
    by: disguntaled

Used this machine for a year, every time wash dark's
no matter whose detergent used you have to put through a second rinse. Where is the energy savings in this. Better off with regular washing machine and save your money.

    No resolve in sight!
    by: Anonymous

My comments are identical to "Discouraged", dated March 29th. At the 2.5 yr mark, I started getting messages, and it wouldn't complete cycles. They have replaced parts, but nothing has been resolved. The store (TA Appliances, in Kitchener) has stopped reacting to my calls.I wouldn't deal with Whirlpool, nor TA Appliances again.

    Working out well
    by: Anonymous

We bought the Cabrio top loader a couple of months ago. We wanted a top loader with the high efficiency of a front loader (didn't want to deal with water leaks and the musty smell we have heard so much about).
So far we are very happy with our machine. It is very quiet, clothes are coming out clean, and the spin cycle is helping to reduce the dryer time. We really appreciate the large capacity - we do less laundry now!
I did read through the manual a few times to make sure I knew how to use this new technology, as you do have to load the machine a different way and make sure to choose the best wash cycle for each load.
I thought I'd better give a good review on this website as it seems only people who are unhappy with their purchases are leaving comments.

    Total Junk
    by: Jaimo

Save your money. The Cabrio is junk. I paid top dollar for one 3 years ago and the control board had to be replaced and the bearings are already going on this machine. Whirlpool won't warranty the job and it costs approximately $800 to replace the bearings and tub.

I have read hundreds of bad reviews on this machine, don't waste your money pick another toploader like a GE Profile or an LG. The Maytags are owned by Whirlpool.

This is just a friendly warning to be careful. The repair guy told me it would be cheaper to by another machine....after only 3 years. I'll go back to using the regular washing machine that uses tons of water. In the long run I will save money not having to replace a $1,100 washing machine every three years.

    Whirlpool Top Load Cabrio
    by: "Discouraged"

Worked like a charm for 3 years. Then the error messages started, and it wouldn't complete a full cycle. I'm now 4 service calls later, and both the RPS sensor, and the main control, have been replaced - and neither resolved the issues. I wouldn't purchase this model again, and due to the length of time, to obtain repairs, I wouldn't purchase a Whirlpool product again.

    Down By The River
    by: Anonymous

    Not worth it.
Looks pretty and fun to watch through the glass top but doesn't clean at all.
Tried various combinations of HE detergents and additives to no avail.
had the technician come take a look to say it is working as it is supposed to and that we should just pre-treat and scrub everything before washing them.
Wasn't that the point of a washing machine? To save work?
May as well go back to taking clothes down to the river and banging them against the rocks. Can't be much more work than using one of these. :-P

    DO NOT BUY THIS MONSTER
    by: Anonymous

Most expensive washer I have ever owned. wrinkles clothes. Get off balance frequently. Terrible on comforters, not large ones, twin size. Door has to sometimes be held down to lock. Does not seem like enough water for most loads. Takes long to wash and nothing special except using more electricity. Hate it.
