Whirlpool Duet - WFW9200SQ
Whirlpool has been a leader in the home appliance field for many years. They spent those years, or so they thought, mastering the development of great washing machines, dryers, refrigerators and dishwashers among other home appliances. Normally Whirlpool has a great line of products. The Whirlpool WFW9200SQ Duet Washer falls way short of the mark. Whirlpool WFW9200SQ Duet Washer Key FeaturesThe machine, however, is a laundry list of features (direct from Whirlpool’s produce description):- Energy Star Compliant. The “E” logo shows that the Whirlpool Duet washer meets all of the requirements that the Department of Energy have stated for cleaning efficiency.

Whirlpool WFW9200SQ Duet Washer ProblemsIt sounds like a gem of a washing machine. It is loaded with so many features it makes the Whirlpool Duet sound like the best thing ever. Unfortunately, for them, the Whirlpool Duet is not singing as clearly as the manufacturer would have hoped. In fact, it is pretty abysmal. First and foremost you have to handle the doors with gentle ease. How many of us – when washing clothing – worry about opening the door? I know I do not. I just swing that bad boy open, shove clothing inside and slam it shut. You cannot do that with the duet as it has a tendency to easily break. The machine, in some instances, can flash a code that is unknown to any customer service rep (or, at the very least, supposedly unknown). If this code comes up the machine will not work and asking for a priority service means spending more money. There is a lever inside the machine that can become stuck (it is located near the top right of the machine) and when it does the noise becomes unbearable and there is virtually no water flow into the Whirlpool Duet’s washing cylinder. Sealing the door off from the rest of the machine has proven a bit difficult for the Whirlpool Duet. The rubber that seals the machine and makes a tight fit does not hold in the water as it should. After using the washing machine for several months the rubber can become eroded or loose. This leaves you with the big chore of collecting all of the water from the machine that has been leaking out. The detergent collects around the seal causing it to not form tat tight fit. Forget about customer service and quality repairs too. The customer service department at Whirlpool is apparently one of the most rude and unhelpful ever and the repair people they use like to use parts that are not new in order to save money to protect their raises and overhead. For every bad take on the machine there is good. The fans of the machine love how quiet it is and often describe it as a dream washer. The Whirlpool Duet has a double size stainless steel drum so you can do much more laundry at a time saving hours of doing wash all of the time. Those are hours you can never get back. The hinge problems on the door also appear to be quite rare – at least for the newer models. Hat should not hinter your purchase of the Whirlpool Duet. Many wives and husbands who do wash love the fact tat it has many cycles to in which to choose from. It takes the guess work out of what clothing should be done on what setting – very handy for the frat guy who has never done wash in his life. I have to give kudos to Whirlpool for making it simple to use. The cost of the Whirlpool Duet leaves much to be desired. It is a decent price over all when compared to other washing machine especially when you take into consideration how much money you can save on your electric bill from the E-rated machine. In the end – and as always – let the buyer beware.
