How does this washer stand out? »
This washer is a step down from Whirlpools “crème de la crème” front loader which means it lacks the Active Spray technology but also comes in $200 dollars cheaper. This washer is identical to the $100 cheaper WFW88HEAC, except this one comes with 12 hour fan fresh, which kicks in after the wash cycle to keep clothes fresh, and has the precision dispense ultra which is more economical using 10 percent less detergent than manual filling the dispenser.
I have learned that the problems with this machine were caused when Whirlpool started using an inferior material for the bearing and shaft assembly.In the first 2 years of production these parts were replaced free of charge but now repairs will run close to 1200.00. There is no recourse now except to bite the loss and replace the machine.The company realized the cost cutting efforts were not working so they made the change back but those of us that bought the machines early on have no recourse. Beware code F21. This will be your first indicator that you got ripped as well.
