Towels are more absorbent if you don't use fabric softener on them.

Extra Absorbant Towels
by: missmojo1

If you line dry towels they will be extra absorbant. Put a little vinegar in the rinse cycle to help keep them soft. They will still be a little stiff but after you become accustomed to it, you will prefer them this way. Plus it saves tons on your electric bill. Towels and blue jeans are the worst items to put in the dryer. They are so thick and take longer to dry. If you must, put them in the dryer for 10-15 minutes to fluff them.

Totally

Agree with this tip. I have been doing this for years now and have noticed a difference in my towels, the nice bath sheets. Also true for your sheets , if u live in a hot climate or for women going through the change of life.

Add Some Vinegar To The Rinse For Soft, Fresh Towels
by: Anonymous

This is so true, but if your towels do not smell as fresh as you like because you don't use dryer sheets you can always add a half a cup of vinegar to the rinse cycle. Don't worry - your towels won't smell like pickles, they will just smell fresh and clean and even be a little softer.

I Agree

Yes, this is a good tip. I heard it last year on Martha Stewart, so I tried it. It definitely works.
