Sun

by Rachael
(Brighton, CO USA)

I have a family of four, and two dogs, so being able to get clothes clean is a big priority for me. Fortunately, I have been able to find a good detergent at a reasonable price. Sun detergent has been wonderful for my family.

It is much less expensive than some other brands like Tide and Dreft, but I feel it works just as well. I buy the liquid instead of the powder, and use a little less than the recommended amount, and it gets all of my clothes clean and resh-smelling.

I do have to run the rinse cycle twice from time to time to be sure I remove all the soap residue, but other than that, I have no problems with it. It has a mild scent, which does not give my clothes a "prefume" scent like some detergents tend to do, and it is safe for my son's sensitive skin as it is non-irritating.

It costs approximately $4.00 for a large bottle which will do about 50 loads of wash, which puts the price a little more than the store brand laundry detergent, but less than some of the other name brand liquid laundry soaps.

From time to time I will switch brands to see if a less expensive brand will work better, or to see if I like something with a different scent, but ultimately I always end up switching back to Sun laundry detergent.

It is a great quality product with an unbeatable price!

satisfaction
by: Big MAMA

I have used just about everything for sensitive skin on the market, i tried SUN because it was affordable but it actually worked super well, better than any other detergent for my six children's super sensitive skin, i only use 1/8 to 1/4 cup of detergent in my front loader and it works great. great smell and clothes get cleaner than with store brand detergents i have tried.

Sun detergent
by: Sarah

I came here to look for reviews on Sun. I have used it before, but I usually just use the cheapest thing I can find on sale.

The week of 1-3, Walgreens will have their 75 load bottles of Sun on sale for $4.99, buy one, get one free. That's $.03/load! Incredibly cheap, and I am glad to see it works well. Looks like I will stock up!

I Agree About Cost Effectiveness
by: Joanie

I agree about the cost effectiveness since Sun is always one of the cheaper detergents found at Wal-mart, but I find that it does the job fine. I see no reason to spend more on the others when Sun washes clothes sufficient enough for me, and I'm a clean person.

Wondering
by: Anonymous

Works as well as most. I was wondering though if its a detergent that adds to the estrogen issue?

Prefer it
by: Anonymous

I prefer to purchase the sun brand detergents because of not only the cost, but I feel that they do as good of a job as the expensive brands, and I like the Sun BETTER

However, I can no longer buy the Sun detergents at any of my local retail or grocery stores....
For some reason they decided that they have to get rid of it... I do not know why.... But I want it back!

I agree
by: Anonymous

Ever since I have moved out of my parents house I have used Sun because it is cheap and effective. Although it does not leave a strong scent like the other brands, I have never had problems with soap residue. My clothes are clean and I didn't have to pay a fortune.
