The copper (wire, foil, pipe) causes snails to create and small electric charge and deters them from eating your sprouts with no chemicals.

I have always been trying new ways to keep snails away from my plants but was never successful. I think this trick would help me a lot to save my tiny plants from these invincible creatures.

Copper Works For Slugs Too

I agree. I have been doing this for years too. Surrounding your plants with copper wire will also keep the slugs off.
