Rival Steamwave IR603 Iron

by Lisa
(Akron,Ohio)

I have a Rival Steamwave IR603 clothes iron. I bought it in 2006 for my college apartment. It is definitely a good clothe iron. I bought it at Wal-Mart for about ten dollars, and it turned out to be one of the best buys that I have come across in a really long time. As a college student, I was on a really tight budget.

Even though I was on a tight budget, an iron is an essential household item for anyone. One good thing about the iron is that it dos have adjustable heat settings. The adjustable heat settings are for different fabrics. This is essential in an iron because you don’t want to ruin anything. You can even adjust the steam on the iron! This is great because sometimes the steam on an iron can be overkill.

There is also an indicator light on the iron for temperature. It shuts off once the iron has reached the temperature that you set it to. Most of the irons that I have had in the past always ends up having that burnt fabric on the bottom, but that is not so with this iron.

The iron has a nonstick plate, and I have never had a problem with it. As with most irons, it also has a little compartment in which you can pour water to spray a mist on your clothes. This is especially helpful during those times that you run out of iron starch. I also like this iron because the iron heats up really fast. I hate irons that take all day to heat up, especially when you are in a rush.

Another thing that I like about the iron is the fact that the cords pivots. It’s great because the cord doesn’t get caught on anything. The only bad thing about the iron is that the iron doesn’t have a retractable cord. But what do you expect for 10?
