Removing oily food stains

by Michele
(Washington)

My mom taught me that if you keep a bottle of shampoo in the laundry, you can use it to remove oily food stains.

Just pour some on the stain and gently rub then launder as usual. I have found that shampoo for oily hair works best.

Totally agree

I hadn't tried the shampoo bit, but I've used Dawn. I'll have to check out the shampoo and see if it works out any cheaper (I'm a little messy when I eat lol). Dawn works great though because it's for food on dishes anyway. Thanks for the new idea.

Shampoo Removes Skin Oil Too!
by: Anonymous

I use shampoo to hand wash bras and underclothes. The shampoo breaks down the skin oils on the fabric and removes perspiration odors too.

I agree, because I have experienced.

My sister tests this technique. Now I use it. I agree, because it's worked 100% with any oily foods! Thanks!

i use dawn too

Have a greasy food stain on a shirt? Use original blue Dawn! Simply rub a small amount into the stain, covering it completely. Let it sit a few minutes before washing. Tough stains may take an extra wash or two, but this has worked every time for me!

you can also use dawn to get oily stains out
by: jennifer

I use dawn dish liquid to remove grease and oil stains. Works like a charm! Even on set in stains. Just pour on, rub in and launder as usual. Voila!!
