Mildew spots

by Teri
(Galloway, NJ)

If you find a black mildew spot on something that was wet too long, maybe the beach towels in the trunk?, pour a good amount of peroxide all over the stain, throw it in the washer and add some more peroxide and some baking soda. This will get rid of the smell and the stain.

Clorox 2 - Hydrgen Peroxide
by: Anonymous

Clorox 2 works due to containing hydrogen peroxide(H2O2), I've used it on colors and whites and it really helps remove stains, but never seen it bleach anything. Even directly on stains and rubbing fabric is safe.

does it work on color clothes?
by: Anonymous

For those who've tried it:
Does the peroxide bleach the cloth? I have a blue towel with some mildew on it, and it won't go away no mater how many times I wash it!
Thanks, great tip.

Never thought of that
by: Anonymous

Great idea, never thought of peroxide for mildew stains. I know I have never found anything to get them out. And have thrown away items, because of mildew stains. I will definitely give the peroxide a try.
