Maytag Legacy Series Top Loader

DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE. After four years the washer made noises. A year later it leaked and still made noises. The bearing is making the noise and the water leak came from the water pump. We are buying a new washer and it will NOT be a Maytag. I have heard of buyers hoping for a class action suit against Maytag for building the Legacy series. I hope this will benefit you in making a choice about used washing machines.

After 3 years the seal leaked and ruined everything but the motor and the repairs would cost more than a new machine! Furious here.

My husband had the washer and dryer combo before we got married. It was used for 3 years by a bunch of bachelors who abused it and stuffed it full. It seemed to work fine for what they needed. As soon as I started using it I realized that my clothes were way to finicky. My undergarments and socks were getting torn up in this machine. My sweaters were getting picks on them. The dryer never seemed to get the clothes very dry on the first go through. Every load has to be dried twice guaranteed. Stay away from this machine if you plan on using it for any length of time. Also if you have clothes that are more delicate, this machine will eat them guaranteed.

Ive had my Maytag washer for over 3 years now and it works wonderfully. I use it several time a week and I've never had a problem! LOVE MAYTAG!!!

I'VE ONLY HAD THIS MAYTAG LESS THAN A YEAR AND IT DOESN'T CLEAN YOUR CLOTHES GOOD AT ALL IT LEAVE A WHITE FILM ON YOUR DARK CLOTHES AND I USE LIQUID SOAP. I HATE THIS MACHINE.

This is an aweful machine. It does not completly ring out loads that are more than 1/2 full. I bought this only 3 years ago. Terrible. Do not buy a Maytag.

Consumers definately need to file a Class Action Lawsuit against Maytag as this Legacy 06 washer is the poorest quality possible. The problem is with a slow or no spin which leaves your wash dripping wet!

Maytag did provide a new transmission as the machine is now nearing 3 yrs old but its had this problem almost from the first loads. Repairman won't work on this Legacy Maytags due to the problems installing parts due to poor Maytag design.

I will NEVER buy another Maytag product again. By the way, the dryer won't heat now and Maytag won't stand back of their products because they are aware these machines made especially in 2006 are just a worthless piece of junk!!!

Had the washer for about 4 yrs. It would just stop mid-wash. It would not do anything just sit there dead.Next day it would work fine for a while .Noticed the motor would get real hot .When it cooled down it would work again.
Prior washer was a Maytag had it for many yrs. I will not buy Maytag again.

DO NOT BUY THIS WASHER. As with the other reviewer, ours is four years old and makes a terrible noise when spinning. Now it is leaking and has ruined our floor. This is a terrible machine. My first Maytag washer lasted 19 years and I bought this one. The repairman told me I should have kept the old one and had it fixed because the new Maytags are not built the same as before.
