Maytag Legacy Quiet Series 100

by Kathy
(Wisconsin)

I purchased my Maytag Washer at Home Depot. Its an attractive looking machine. I chose white. It is easy to operate. The features included with my machine include 17 cycles. The cycles include a heavy duty and one to decrease wrinkles. There is also a gentle cycle. There are several choices for size of loads from mini to extra large. The machine does a nice job on blankets and bedspreads. The spin cycles work effectively so that drying time is lessened. The basket of the washer is metal, not plastic. The machine has maintained its balance in the two years I have owned it. There is an automatic softener dispenser and an area for dispensing bleach.

The softener dispenser is through the agitator. The softener is poured into the receptical and during the cycle dispensed from the bottom during the spin. The agitator is made from plastic. I have found that the liquid softener sometimes does not get totally dispensed into the laundry. Some remains in the plastic dispenser or at times on the bottom of the wash basket.

This necessitates re-rinsing a load of wash at times. I have found that thinner softeners seem to be dispensed more easily. I have not had any problems with this washing machine. The metal basket is an important feature. Overall, this washing machine is relatively quiet and easy to operate. The cycles are long enough to get even large loads of clothes clean.I would recommend this washer to any household looking for a reliable appliance.
