Maytag Company Opinions and customer services

by Kimberly
(Des Moines Iowa USA )

Maytag is a name most know..I have owned many washing machines used many but my thoughts on the Maytag are reliable and durable machines.I love the way my clothes come out as well as my children's clothes which are always usually stained good from playing and school..

I would recommend the Maytag Washing Machine to anyone to use as the for me the name says it all and there products through out the years have always shown to be very well made and to last. One thing about Maytag is that you can put large amounts to small amounts as you like in there washing machines and they still come out clean and almost as knew.

For many years as Maytag has been around they have always had the reputation in my book as being well made company in the things they make for the consumer which is myself.I always know i am getting my moneys worth out of the Maytag washing machines and knowing my families clothes would come out clean and almost as knew.

Maytag is a wonderful company and i would suggest to anyone to buy the washing machines made by Maytag as they are built to last.

Dependable . . . for the first month
by: Anonymous

I used to have an expensive front load machine but when that only lasted me 5 years I thought I would try a lesser-priced, "dependable" Maytag Centennial Wash machine.
The first month it worked fine. A few quirks (like no soak feature and the lid locking) but it was inexpensive so I didn't expect such extravagance.
Then the first major repair in the 3rd month of owning it. Luckily covered under one year warranty. Another major repair in the 6th month. We traveled for 9 months and came back home. Within the next 6 months, another major repair and now no warranty. This Centennial is heading out to the curb. Dependable it ain't!

Maytag Cenntenial Top Load Washer
by: John R. Canada

I am totally turned off Maytag products. I purchased a top load Centennial washer in 2011 for use in my seasonal residence which we use 4 months a year. In 2012, the sensors required replacement and we had an argument with Maytag over the fact that while the one year warranty had expired it was only after four months of use. this year the machine won't spin dry on any of the programs. Of course we are off warranty and it will cost a couple of hundred to fix it. I've decided to ditch it and get a washer from a more reliable manufacturer. This is only enforced by the fact that prior to purchasing the washer we purchased a Maytag dishwasher that despite the purported "heat dry" cycle always produces a wet result that requires everything in the machine to be hand dryed at the end of each cycle. yes we had a qualified repair service come and tell us that he couldn't do anything to fix the problem.
So my advice is don't buy anything with a Maytag name plate.

Maytag Dependable - What Crap!
by: Airdrie AB

I bought a maytag Bravos top load less than 1 year ago and have had not end of problems with not rinsing properly, water level too low to wash so cloth were dry on top, faulty lid switch, actuator failure, computer failure etc... and now its not rinsing again!. Maytag dependable - what crap. This unit is less than 1 year old and they will not replace it. They just keep sending technicians over and in the mean time we have no washer again. One on the customer service clerks even told us that they no longer stand by the phrase customer satisfaction, and maytag dependable any longer due to changes in manufacturing techniques. So... I recommend do not buy a maytag washer or you will be disappointed, big time!

Dependable ? I don't think so !!!!
by: Anonymous

I have a Maytag washer that is 10 years old. I bought it because of all the stories that a Maytag washer lasts and lasts and it isn't rare that they last 20 years or more. I didn't have that type of luck. The washer only did a mediocore job of washing the clothes. After the 10th year, it broke and was going to cost over $300 to fix. SO much for being dependable. My friend has a cheap Kenmore that he bought used and is on his 14th year with no problems. I will not buy Maytag again.----Ever.

WATER AND ENERGY WASTER!!!
by: Anonymous

your washing machine is a water and energy waster,
it is impossible to stop your machine while in cycle to add either a piece of clothing or detergent that was forgotten, because when it starts up again it will spin and drain out all of the good water that was just put into the machine!

It is inefficient and a BIG WASTER OF OUR NATURAL RESOURCE, WATER AND ELECTRICAL ENERGY!!

Sorry Junk
by: Anonymous

In 2007,I bought a 2007 bravos washer and dryer. After a few months, clothes smelled bad. Jeans and sheets come out twisted and knotted. Called Home Depot, where I bought them. Sorry, call maytag company. They recommended buying more cleaning products. Still smelled. Buy cleaner to run in washer monthly, also. All to save a few gallons of water??? Hmmmmm. Save money? When the set was about 16 months old, washer broke. After threats of running an ad in a local newspaper, maytag sent someone out to repair them 3 times in a few mos. Dryer door latch broke, also. Now 3 yrs later, same thing on the washer broke again. The dryer had to be fixed last year. Latch on door, again and bearings bad. I had to pay. Called Maytag. They told me out of 1 million sets sold, only 100 were bad. !00 of us are out of luck. Now washer unbalances every load, again! Fabric softener will not release into rinse cycle and dryer is noisy again. What next???? Oh yeah, the washer just ruined a quilt. I have called maytag several times from the start.! Never owned such junk!!!!! I'm just stuck with them. Neither company will stand behind their sale!! Very sad!

love maytag
by: Anonymous

I absolutely love my maytag washer! I purchased this actual washer back in 1998 and it still washes my clothes as good today as it did the first time I used it. I went to Sears to purchase it and since then I have moved about five times. With every move, it was easy to hook my washer back up and get it running with out the help of my husband.

I did not have any specific brand in mind the day that I went out to shop for one, I just ended up purchasing a Maytag because it was in my budget and I liked the color.(Like a cream color) Since then, I have went and got me a Maytag dryer and I am updating my house so I am about to update my appliances.

I am definitely going to get the Maytag combo washer and dryer set because I know that I will be set for another 10-15 years.

I recommend everyone in purchasing a Maytag washer. They are great with service calls and very customer oriented when they come to your home.

I needed them to fix my washer once when my son put two pairs of his shoes and tons of clothes into the washer and caused it to jump off track. They came out to next it two days after the initial call for service and did a wonderful job. Love it!
