I always keep my main cleaning supplies stocked up. Vinegar, baking soda and peroxide and simple green. I try to only use these items if I can help it.
This is something I'm really interested in trying. I want to use more natural things to clean, instead of having 75 different products for each room in the house. Other than baking soda and vinegar, I've heard that you can use peroxide to get out fabric/carpet stains. You can also use lemon juice to scent things, if you want a more pleasant scent after cleaning with vinegar.

I couldn't believe how well the baking soda works. I read it on a website and now I never buy any Comet and my bathtubs and sinks come out looking great. I use it in my laundry all the time, too. Also, instead of using the scented powder you put on your carpets I use baking soda.

I agree wholeheartedly - and it is a money saver too! I don't use peroxide or simple green for cleaning (what do you use those for?) just vinegar and baking soda. It was difficult at first to make the change - I guess all the advertising for cleaning products really works - so it was gradual for me (using baking soda instead of comet, etc.) but once you do, you won't want to go back to manufactured cleaning products.
