Kenmore Stackable Washer and Dryer

I have a white Kenmore Washer and Dryer combo in my apartment complex. It is the stackable kind, with the dryer on top. I don’t know where our landlord got it from, or how long it was in the unit before I moved in. We use electricity, not gas, so my review will be for the electric model. We’ve lived in our current apartment for about 4 years, so I’m guessing it’s probably close to 5 or 6 years old.
The whole machine is a top loader washer unit. I prefer a front loader washer, but I am making due with a top loader.
I did a quick search at the Sears website, and found a much newer model-a Kenmore 24 in space saver laundry center with electric dryer for $807.49 before any delivery charges or taxes were added in.
It is 120 volt dryer, and it small. It doesn’t hold that much. Maybe 2 or 3 large towels, or 2 pairs of jeans at best. It’s got auto dry and timed dry. It has high heat, no heat and delicate heat features. The lint trap is hard to clean out unless you’ve got long arms. Every so often I have to take the lint filter out and vacuum out the lint trap holder because lint collects in the dryer vent outside of the lint trap. It doesn’t matter if the lint trap is empty or not, it still collects on the out side of the lint trap. It takes about 60-75 minutes to dry a load of laundry depending on how big or how heavy the items are.
The washer has four cycles. Spin dry to squeeze out the extra water if you so want, delicate and normal. There is no rinse cycle only. Which is a bummer if you are just wanting to run something through the rinse cycle. There is also a soak cycle. The normal cycle, from start to finish, takes about 30 to 35 minutes or so. There is no liquid fabric softener dispenser if that is what you prefer to use.
It has a hot wash, warm wash or cold wash cycle to wash the clothes. The rinse cycle only rinses stuff in cold water.
The washing machine also does not fit much it. At best, 3-4 towels and some washcloths, or 2-3 pairs of jeans.
