I've had this machine for almost three years. My wife and I have never been so disappointed with any product as we are with this washing machine. I encourage everyone not to buy it!
1.5 years after we purchased the machine the computer module started failing. I replaced it and the unit worked fine for about 1 month. Now the control panel is failing. The solenoid valve that controls the water flowing into the fabric softener dispenser does not work. I would replace it but Whirlpool, in their infinite wisdom, designed a single solenoid module; meaning you have to replace all valves at once - at a cost of + $100 USD.
Now the stupid washer leaks from the bottom. No matter how small a load you put in the washer always becomes unbalanced during the spin cycle. Many times during the wash it shutdowns with an error code. I can't wait to replace this piece of garbage! I will never buy another Kenmore washer again!

Our Oasis is about 2-1/2 years old.
It leaks onto the floor, and tears brand new towels. I am now waiting for a repair technician to replace a re-call electronic board.
I would never buy another one.

My wife and I have a rather large family. Our three kids (all 6) go out of their way to ensure that there's always laundry to be done. We bought this machine in a set with the matching dryer from an appliance resale shop. It's about 2 years old.
It's got all the bells and whistles that you'd expect from a Kenmore, like options to pre-soak, rinse once or twice, different fabric settings, temperature, and spin-cycle speed. It's self-explanatory, so even when someone like my tech-challenged wife needs to use it for a specific purpose (say, washing dark silk lingerie), she finds it easy to adjust the settings accordingly.
I have to mention the sheer size factor that led me to invest in this washer... HUGE. It can handle quite a load, from numerous jeans to pillows and comforters.
My overall experience with the Kenmore Series has been a positive one, and I'd recommend this line to anyone looking into buying a quality washer.

Using the Kenmore Elite Oasis (canyon capacity) with the HE detergents, my clothes do not come out smelling as fresh as with my old washing machine with regular detergents. Any reason for this?

I have a 1.5 year old Oasis and it's already had a broken computer, pump, and hose. This was a replacement to Sears other crap, Calypso. I was wathcing the repairman take out parts then happen to notice they're all made in China. Figures Sears would dharge the same price even though the obviously are putting these things together with inferior parts.
I would never buy another Kenmore product in my life. As it's mostly made by Whirlpool, I imagine the same goes for them.

I hope you continue to have good fortune with your Oasis Kenmore product. I, too, have one of these. Difference is, mine has had service three times in the past 24 months. Matter of fact, the repair man, Sears appointed, is here today to the tune of $393.00 and does not have the problem resolved. I hear him downstairs now calling for help. Anyway, would not recommend this machine to anyone. I am going back to cheaper units that can be desposable products. You can get a new machine for the price of this repair.
