No power to washer instigated first call to sears. For 250 they were suppose to come out and fix whatever was wrong and warranty for 1 year.
They replaced lid lock and then ordered a keypad board. They left with the machine constantly beeping and unable to do a load without the water temperature lights fluxing and losing time amongst other light errors. They came back for a 3rd time and said it was uneconomical to repair, put an audit sticker on it and left.
What now? No input from Sears. We went to price other washers and the Sears sale guy said there was a recall on the Kenmore Oasis but couldn't give us details or if our exact model was included. Sears has gone silent. What's the deal? Bought in 2006 for 1k and dead by 2009.

Serious problem with this washer by: Caryn
There are recurrent problems with the control panel that you wouldn't expect in a high end washer.
This last problem takes the cake!! Apparently during the spin cycle the washer tub totally came off and blew out the back and then the sides of the washer. Pieces, water, bolts, etc were everywhere and the tub was sitting on the floor of the washer. It dented our dryer and broke a switch plate on the wall. We weren't here thank God!
Someone could have been SERIOUSLY HURT. The washer is less the 3 years old. We're getting the typical run around from everyone! I DO NOT want anyone to be HURT! There is obviously a potential serious problem.

Don't buy Kenmore by: Anonymous
It's expensive and completely unreliable. My Oasis broke after 1.5 years. What's worse is you have to pay an additional fee for a service plan.
I have sued them in small claims court asking for my serive fee back because it's unreasonable that a wahsing machine only last 1.5 years.
Case pending.

very disappointed by: Anonymous
my wife and i purchased our set of Kenmore washer and drier form our Sears Dept. store. Right from the start we believed that they were very expensive, but of course the salesperson will always tell you that its the best of its kind and that you will get years of service from their product.
Well from the beginning we noticed that our clothes always came out wrinkled no matter how quickly we removed them from both the washer and the drier. We also noticed that our clothes also became tangled our bundled amongst itself which might be the reason for the excess wrinkling. So needless to say, we were not very happy with our purchase, but hey, they're suppose to give us years of good service , right?
Well, after owning our washer and drier for 2 years, it started to malfunction on us! First, it started beeping ( 3 short beeps ) after the wash cycle started and the screen would flash a message ( F 2 ) whatever that might be.
Then the washer cycle select button started go wrong, no matter what cycle you selected it jumped over to clean machine cycle. After that the machine just completely stopped working!
Well, ok, lets get our very nice and expensive machine fixed right? Wrong! We called our wonderful dependable Sears customer service number to see if we had purchased an extended warranty on our appliances, and guess what , we hadn't of course, why, well because we believed we had purchased a product that would give us years of service without any problems!!
yea right.
And the first thing that Sears has to offer is "yes" more services, and of course for additional cost!! How convenient, and we "TRUSTED" the names Kenmore and Sears!!
Now, how important are the customers KNOW?

Kenmore Elite Oasis #27082 by: ToddsMom
I have to agree: I am on my SECOND unit of this model within two years! I inisisted that Sears replace the FIRST one after it required 3 service calls within 5 months after purchase. So far the repairs have NOT cost me anything, and they replaced it with an identical model at no cost....but the second one is no better than the first one. I've had it just a little over a year, and have had two service calls. The last one was on August 11, 2008. The technician (who was a very pleasant, informative guy by the way--no complaints about him) found out that the CONTROL BOARD was shot, and a new one had to be ordered. Sears called me on the 18th to let me know that it was BACKORDERED! Today is Sept. 5th, and I still haven't gotten the part! I told them they could send me $50 to pay for going to the laundromat, which to my surprise they actually did, but it's not going to come close to covering it. It's sad because I've always purchased Kenmore appliances, but this will be my last purchase. It doesn't get the clothes clean, half the cycles don't work the way they are intended to, and towels and sheet still tangle all up even using the Sheets & Towels cycle. And I've experienced the off-&-on leaking from it as well. DEFINITELY A MODEL TO AVOID!!!!! (IMHO)
