I have had my Kenmore 80 series washer for about 13 years and I got it from a friend who was remodeling his house, so he gave it to me. I have NEVER been impressed with a washing machine before, but this one just keeps on going!
If I ever have to replace it, it will be with an exact same one. We are a family of four with a 3 year old and my Daughter-in-Law does loads almost every day.

Kenmore 80 Series Washer by: Stacy
My husband bought this washer a few years before we were married. We celebrated our 20th anniversary in June 2011! The washer is still working like it is new. I don't want to replace it any time soon but I am curious to know its capacity so I can compare it to some of the newer washers. I love how large the tub is and when I do have to replace it I want something similar in size. I looked for the specs on the inside of the lid but found only directions on how to use it. Does anyone know how large it is?

What will I do without my 80 series by: Rhonda
I have had my Kenmore 80 series set for 20 years .. I'm really nervous about having to replace them and can only hope that Kenmore has something on the market that's just as good ... This machine was used for an outdoor family of 5 , with Dad being a construction worker , the machines have dealt with screws , carpentar pencils, animals and many , many clothes covered in campfire smoke and marshmellows..

wish they were still around by: Kerry
We have an ancient top loader than has gone through 3 boys since 1992. All were engaged in sports, as well as their Dad, and 4 - 5 loads at a time were normal.
Kenmore does the job. We recently had a wiring connection short circuit, and rather than replace our venerable washer (even though our home owner's insurance has offered), we have replaced the wiring, rather than get a new washer, free. You cnnot beat a Kenmore. I wish they were still around...

Kenmore Series 70 by: Lee
Have my Kenmore over 28 yrs., maybe 30. Today it almost failed on me. But with a wing and a prayer, I restarted the washer, and it was working, did hear a few screeches, but guess what, it stopped and did the full cycle with no problem. I washed another load of clothes with no problem. I hate to give up on my Kenmore, I don't think they make them the way they used to. I will try another wash next week and see what happens.

Kenmore 80's the bestest everer! by: kel
Oh my God! the machine acted uptoday for the first time since I purchased it in 2000. I went out after starting a load and when I returned home I had flooded the apartment beneath me and the bodega beneath that apartment. My super and I were trying to assess what happened and he said the pump was probably shot. I went on line pricing pumps versus buying a new machine and it came to me that while we were looking - we had the lid up. Sure enough, I closed the lid, set it to rinse and Viola! the machine started draining again!
