This is the WORST maching ever! It always goes off balance, it's noisy and the motor is completely burned out and it's only 3 years old. Yesterday it started smoking, and luckily we were home to unplug it because it would've burned the house down.


We had to call the fire department! A few months ago, when we had it serviced, we were told that it's not really a Maytag design, but a Norge. Apparently Maytag bought Norge and started selling their designs under the Maytag label.

We thought we were buying a quality machine based on the Maytag label, but we were fooled. We bought it at Sears, and I will never buy there again.

Thought I was buying a quality product with Maytag. Boy was I wrong. This washer is about 5 years old and I am having so many problems with it. Most recently, it has started leaking when I wash towels and will not spin them clean. The towels are sopping wet and full of soap suds. To top it off, it starts banging and walking across the floor nearly dislodging the water hose. I know it wil probably cost more than it is worth to fix. This is unaccaptable Maytag!

I had GE washer/Dryer and never brokern. I am switch over to Maytaq washer & Dryer. Model HAV4657EWW - less than 5 years and begin to make very loud noise. I have called services guy come over and he told me motor and Belt need replace... we may additional $$$ for maytag and they no longer deserve our trust.

Sorriest junk I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Bought it at Home Depot. Neither place backed the junk they sold! Clothes stink. Have to buy extra cleaners. Save on Water? Jeans and sheets come out in knots. Washer fixed 3 times at about 1 year old. Dryer door latch defective, same time. Unbalances every load. Rinses when it is on spin. 3 yrs old and is broken again. Wont release softener into rinse cycle and wont spin right, again. Dryer had to be fixed march 2010. Latch again and bearings shot!!! Dryer is noisy again! maytag company said they sold 1 million sets of bravos 2007 series. ONLY 100 were bad. So, they could not replace the 100, since all the others were good. Sorry about my luck! They need to read these reviews!! OH, Kenmore, Whirlpool,Maytag and I just read Norge have merged! Go figure!! Done with all of them and Home Depot! Hope others take heed!

We purchased this Maytag dog about 5-6 years ago, and since then I've replaced the pump 3 times due to holes developing in its cheap plastic housing. I am also having the balance problem when the machine goes into spin cycle, but it never did that when it was new, the problem developed over time. Now it will wash clothes and pump out the waste water, but the tub won't spin, leaving soapy clothes behind. What ever happened to those commercials on TV with the Maytag repairman sitting around, waiting for something to break? Now I know why, he's too busy fixing Maytag's garbage. I should have done the same as my Parents and went with Kenmore.

not a good product. about 3 years old and now the machine doesn't stop after the first wash, it continues to the extra rinse on both perm press and regular. I never did find the quiet plus cycle. I complained that my GE machine only lasted 8 years.

Piece of crap...I guess I was lucky I got 6.5 years out of mine, previously had a Kenmore that lasted 22.5 years. I am going back to a Kenmore!

Washer worked fine for a while, but after 5 years it burned out on me. I could probably fix it but it's not worth the time imho. Definitely agree with the other comments in that it is difficult to balance. Loud, shaking, walking across the floor. Never again will I buy a Maytag. 200 pound paper weight.

As other comments, this washer is a true piece of crap! I purchased it approx. 5 years ago, and had nothing but problems. I fortunately purchased Sears agreement for 3 years, which I normally don't do, it protected me in this manner, 3rd year the transmission, and motor, and belts needed to be replaced. NO MATTER where I move the machine it becomes off balance and walks across the room, it walked so far it almost took out the water lines to the washer but does not shut off during this walking, saftey hazard?

I just recently purchased a new stove and dishwasher from Sears, Kenmore models. WILL NEVER AGAIN PURCHASE MAYTAG!

5 years old, constantly out of balance. Now it stops in the middle of cycle, you must unplug or leave off for a time and start over. It will not remove all the suds from tub, and you must run rinse cycle repeatedly. We also bought at sears, never again!

Ours walks across the floor, can't be balanced. Tonight it just stopped running, wife says it has happened before, just wait and it will start back up. I unplugged an replugged, waited 10 min. and it started back up. Piece of junk , last maytag and sears.

You have had my exact experience! Ours went for 4 years... came out smoking over the weekend. ( no fire department needed here ) I went to Sears and they would do nothing because we did not get the extended warrenty.

I WAS a Sears shopper for 30 years. Tools, all indoor appliances you name it my family bought it at Sears. NO MORE SEARS for us! A company that does not back the products!

Terrible washing machine, ours will not spin out towels if you have more than 4 towels in a load!!!
