Yep, hairspray sure does work but not once it's been through the washer. You have to use it on fresh ink. Spray it well and scrub.

It also works with ink on walls, skin, and anyplace a ballpoint pen can leak. The best brand, by far is Aqua Net, the dark blue can if you can find it.

I have tried this and it REALLY works! When a pen exploded in my fabric purse, I thought it was ruined. I followed the hairspray advice of a friend and tada...bag is fine!

This is a stain removal tip that my grandmother swears by, and therefore it has sort of been passed down to me via my mother. It works quite well on most types of ink.
