  • Does not clean clothes evenly
  • Tends to vibrate strongly during the spinning cycles which produces a lot of noise.
  • Easily overloads and stops spinning.
  • Agitator can be too rough and can damage more delicate fabrics.

    Extremely Disappointed
    by: Sarah

My complaint, thus far, is the low water level. Because of this, I can't wash a full load. Extremely disappointed in this washing machine!

    BIG DISAPPOINTMENT
    by: Anonymous

Have had this machine for 3.5 years. After 3 yrs the transmisson went out - started making an awful clunking noise during the spin cycle. Though the part was covered by the warranty it still cost $270 to repair and only took the GE service man 30 minutes tops! Now less than 6 mos later it does not work in the wash cycle at all. It will only fill up with water and drain the water - no wash, no spin. Washer now sitting with a load of wet clothes in it. I am a single person so this machine does not get a ton of use.
For $700 I think a washer should last longer than 3 yrs. Will spend tomorrow purchasing a new washer and have them haul this piece of junk away.

Both two year old units have failed
    by: Dan G

There is an overheat sensor in the transmission that fails rendering the transmission useless. I own two of these washers, both have failed. A replacement transmission has also failed after only 5 months. This is totally unacceptable.

    TAngled Mess
    by: Anonymous

My washer is only 2 years old and I have to buy a new one. The clothes come out in a tangled mess. I need to keep the water level on super to get the clothes wet. Everything needs ironing even permanent press. Can't use big load due to not enough water to rinse and can't even untangle the clothes to put in dryer. This hydrowave needs to be rethought.

    Loudest washer ever
    by: Anonymous

I have never had such a loud machine ever. Do not buy a GE washer. I never can get the machine to spin without this loud noise (so loud you can hear it outside my home). Very upset for buying this piece of junk!!!!!

    Don't buy a GE washer.
    by: Anonymous

Tonight I am washing machine shopping. Our GE Profile is just 3.5 years old. The service technician today quoted repairs to exceed $450. The agitator is shot. The machine has been a nightmare and I agree with all the negative comments quoted on this page as to the quality of washing this machine does. No more G.E. for us.

Want your clothes to stay dirty?
    by: Tracey

You may as well not even wash them!! They smell clean, but are just as dirty looking as when you put them in. I am ready to give this away to the dump. I would be embarrassed selling it or even giving it away.....

    awful
    by: Anonymous

We inherited this washing machine with a move and so far I am NOT impressed. The clothes come out matted and very wrinkled and even though I shake each piece before I put it in the dryer they are still very wrinkled when I remove them from the dryer. I also, agree about the noise, mine has an unusual squeeking noise when it is washing. I think I will have to have wash small loads. We will probably have to get another one sooner than later and I left a perfectly great older but better GE washing machine in my last home.

    Don't buy a GE washer!
    by: Anonymous

They replaced our new GE washer only two weeks old. It wouldn't go through the cycles, and didn't rinse properly. Now we have another one that is leaking and does not go through the cycles properly. Last night the washer started up on its own and we couldn't shut it off until I finally unplugged it . . . like it was alive! We are heading back to the store again today to get our money back and find a Maytag.

    Worst Washing Machine Ever!
    by: Anonymous

Terrible washer. I regret having bought this machine. I have to was a load multiple times just to get the clothes clean and have to run a second rinse cycle everytime. How is that energy efficient? Wish I had returned it while I still had the chance.

    JUNK MACHINE
    by: Anonymous

THE WORST WASHER I HAVE EVER HAD.
WATER LEVEL SO LOW, SOME CLOTHES DO NOT EVEN GET WET DURING THE WASH CYCLE OR RINSE CYCLE.
CLOTHES COME OUT MATTED, MISHAPEN AND STRETCHED.
CLOTHES ARE NOT CLEAN. TAKES ABOUT 45 MINUTES FOR A WASH LOAD. USUALLY HAVE TO USE THE 2ND RINSE, BECAUSE OF DETERGENT LEFT IN CLOTHES.

The worst washer I have ever owned. Doesn't drain properly while spinning. Clothes are beaten and streched. I have to run through multiple spin cycles to get the water drained.

    Lint problem
    by: Anonymous

I would never buy another GE washer. There is lint on all of my darker cotton clothes. I tried to separate anything that may produce lint and the problem still exists. I never this problem with any washer I've ever used.

I do not like this machine.

    Thumbs Down
    by: Anonymous

I'm so disappointed with my washer. I was told it washed even better than the old style. However, now I have to wash three loads instead of the one I was used to. My clothes get stretched across the aggitator and are tied in knots.
