I have owned this washing machine for over a year now. It came with my condo, so I didn't actually have much choice in the features or brand. All in all, though, I like the machine.
Just a quick overview of the features it has:
Super Capacity Plus, 10 Cycle, Heavy Duty, Exclusive Auto Balance System, Quiet by Design
It has 3 different types of cycles: Cottons, Easy Care, and Delicates. I mostly use the Cottons, have used the Easy Care, but never the delicates (sorry, I do those by hand). The cottons cycle breaks down even further into Light, Medium, Heavy, Extra Heavy, and Auto-Soak. Generally, I will use the Light or Medium Cycle. The difference between these is just how long the washer will agitate the clothes. I can tell how long the wash cycle is going to take from this nifty row of LEDs that have a time value. It also has LEDs stating the rest of the cycles (Drain, Spin, etc.).
It also has a very large capacity. With the levels ranging from Small, Large, and Super, I can always fit what I want in the washer. However, I find that my dryer works just a little better when I don't overload it with clothes. Since this washer can hold so much, I have to be careful.
During the cycle, the washer tends to be the loudest when it is filling. After that, it isn't too bad (if I close the door). The washer is in a utility room right next to my living room, just to give you some perspective of how quiet it might need to be while I'm watching a movie, for example. I have never had an issue with the balance. I take some care in making sure I don't put all my clothes on one side of the basket, but it does a good job of balancing it no matter how else I arrange them. This probably helps with it being quiet too.
The bleach holder on the side is a nice feature so that it dispenses bleach during the cycle. Though, I have only used this twice.
The temperatures are pretty standard. It is rare that I use the Hot cycle, usually Warm or Cold.
I unfortunately don't know how this compares to other washers for the price, because I didn't purchase it. However, I assume it is a fairly basic model, as it came with the condo when it was built in 2002. That can give a little perspective on how it is holding up, too. It seems pretty durable.
The spin cycle seems to be powerful enough that it gets most of the water out of the clothes. I don't have problems with clothes coming out dripping wet.
All in all, I am happy with the washer. I holds all the clothes I need to put in there (quite a few, I wait as long as possible), it doesn't get out of balance when it is full, it's quiet enough to be close to my living room, and it seems to do a good job with the clothes. Recommended, overall.
