fisher & paykel-smart drive pride

the electronic touch face fisher & paykel has been the best washing machine on the whole. the machine was purchased almost six & a half years ago and has only broken down twice.

this was due to water getting under the electronic face in my leeky laundry & unfortunatly took two weeks for them to come & replace the 1st time. this has been the only negatives i have come to find with this product.

the machine has different water levels, cleaning variations, water heat levels. when the machines load is sitting unevenly or has finished, the machine will beep to alert you of this.

its capasity is five & a half kilos which has been a great size for the amount of washing i do and the amount of space i have.

mine died last week, had it for 10 years without any problem. the 6.5 kg smart drive best feature is it spinned clothes very dry.

I have had my 7.5 kg smartdrive excellence F & P washer for 8.5 yrs . It did around 3500 loads of washing before it finally decided to retire itself....it has served me faithfully never ever needing repairs...never damaging clothes...today it brokedown and I am going to replace it with a new one of the same model and I hope it will be just as good as my old machine....I do a load of washing everyday and this machine has been absolutely wonderful.

7 years old. Just repaired. Expensive to repair - one quarter of the cost of a new machine. Next time it breaks down it will be replaced.
Appart from this, I have been very pleased with it. It is economical with water and washes well. It has not been hard on the clothes.

I bought this washer(and dryer) when we bought out condo in 8-2001.Since purchase I have had repair 2 times.Once for a diverter valve,and I forget the reason for the other repair.Now it is broke again.We are debating repair or buying a new one.

Never really liked the way it cleaned the cloths.It also tears cloths.Shirts come out with holes.Can not use the heavy duty cycle due to the damage it causes.

Good spin cycle though.Dryer still working but started to get a sqeaky belt.

For the money we spent on it I expected better.
