Electric LG Steam Dryer Model #DLEX7177WM

by Debby
(South Carolina)

Pros
- Great steam function and energy saver
- User friendly and childproof

Cons
- High price
- Makes you want to buy the matching washer

Since the Steam dryers first came out, I had always dreamt of owning one and then one lucky day when my old conventional dryer broke down I found the opportunity to do.

I opted for the LG Steam dryer because of all the great commercials and hype I had heard about the product.

The first time it was delivered, the dryer came with a small dent so I returned it in exchange for another. The people at US Appliances were very cordial about it and within the next week I had my brand new dryer.

I ordered it in cherry red because I love that color. I like the fact that LG offers a variety of colors which takes you away from the boring conventional white.

The setup and instructions were very easy and within no time we had our brand new dryer installed and ready for testing.

First thing I did was grab the most wrinkled piece of clothing I had and put it in the dryer with the steam feature on it for 15 minutes. Once it was done, my dress looked brand new, no wrinkles, I was in love.

Now, we have a small 2 year old – 1 and a half at the time of purchase – and she has always enjoyed “helping mommy” with the household chores.

Needless to say she “dirties” more than helps, but with the very durable and user friendly parts of the dryer, it was easy for her to help.

Her favorite part is cleaning out the lint reservoir, which she can take out, empty, and put back with not problems because it is right at her height.

The dryer is a front loader, so it makes it easy for her to help me put the clothes in the dryer and to take them out.

I also enjoy the fact that it makes cute sounds when you press the buttons and when the cycle is done. My daughter enjoys that as well. It is no longer the long annoying “beeeeep” that old traditional dryers make. But the best feature of all is the child lock.

I can activate it by pressing two buttons down at the same time and have no worries that my daughter will change a setting or stop the cycle before its time.

I would definitely recommend this dryer to anyone thinking of upgrading, you won’t be disappointed!
