Eat Eco Friendly

by Cangel
(Tampa, Florida, USA)

We often look at what we eat but do we look at how it is packaged? I make sure that I take a clothe bag to the store when I shop so that purchased items can be put in it instead of plastic. I also make sure that I try to get products in containers that are biodegradable.

When I have leftovers I put them in reusable ocntainers instead of baggies. Evem when I repackage items I put them in reusable containers. They may take up more space in the freezer but plastic bags take up more space in dumps.

I agree that it is important to look at the packaging we use for the food that we eat. I know at our house we save and reuse a lot of things. One of the things we keep and reuse are butter containers for leftovers. We do use the plastic baggies but if they have not been torn up, we wash them and reuse them.

I also bring a cloth bag to the supermarket when I go shopping. It takes more than 100 years for plastic to break down and that destroys the environment.. If everyone brought cloth bags to the supermarket, we'd have much less pollution, both air from manufacturing the plastic bags, and land.
