Product Overview

Bosch's collection of Nexxt Series washers is designed to provide customers with cutting-edge washing machine technology that is both energy efficient and effective in washing clothes. In fact, Bosch washing machines are so efficient that they use over 70% less energy and water than most conventional washers that are top-loading.

The Bosch WFMC1001UC even has the Energy Star seal, which means that it meets the standards for energy efficient appliances. Ithas a load capacity of 3.81 cubic feet, allowing it to handle large loads in a cinch. The side-loading design helps to save water and is generally more convenient than a top-loading washer. What makes this washer even more easy to use is the drum that is tilted at an incline, and this makes it easier for anyone to get the clothes after each wash.

There are also a good variety of options such as the six cycles and three optional settings that can be adjusted for the perfect wash. Here are other advanced features of the Bosch WFMC1001UC:

100 Series Nexxt Washer Quietness

Other people in the house may have had a hard time sleeping or entertaining guests because the washing machine is shaking about and causing a racket.

Fortunately, the Bosch WFMC1001UC is highly rated as a smooth and quiet operator. Operating at only 58 decibels, users don't have to worry much about this washer causing any problems with noise. The washing system is specifically designed to reduce the noise and vibration generated by the washer.

Sensotronic Plus

The Sensotronic Plus technology makes use of numerous sensors to analyze and monitor the wash cycle. The sensors are able to gather data on the temperature and load size. This information is then used to adjust the settings for a more efficient wash.

Archie Paddles

The Archie Paddles technology makes use of fin-like paddles to cascade and disperse water above the clothes. This helps to give a more thorough wash by washing suds away, while being gentle on clothes. As clothes spin in the inclined drum, they get gentle but complete wash. The drum's spin speed is rated at 800 rotations per minute.

Advantages

Perhaps the one of the best reasons to invest in Bosch WFMC1001UC is its energy and water efficiency. Many consumers were able to save more money from their water and electricity. It also helps that doing their laundry doesn't cause as much harm to the environment. With the “Good Housekeeping Seal,” consumers also commend the quality and durability of this home appliance.

Some also cited the options and settings to be really useful in getting the best wash for their articles of clothing. Bosch WFMC1001UC is also relatively cheaper than other brands. For many people, this means that they can get a washing machine with many of the leading technologies without burning a hole in their pockets.

Disadvantages

Many consumers have noticed that the Bosch WFMC1001UC does not have as many features as some of the other types of washing machines in the market. This won't necessarily be a problem for those who are used to the simplicity and straightforward nature of most traditional laundering machines, but for those who are looking for flexibility.

Although this washing machine has a relatively low price for what it has to offer, some consumers may still find it to be a bit expensive. Another disadvantage of using the Bosch WFMC1001UC is that it can take quite a long time to finish a cycle. One load can take over one hour and 30 minutes, and it doesn't have a display of how much longer it will take the load to finish. Higher Bosch Nexxt models do have a timer that displays the time remaining for each cycle.

Final Thought

The Bosch WFMC1001UC does have a few hiccups, such as long cycles, but its efficiency and effectiveness make up for the negative aspects. With a two-year limited-warranty, users don't have to worry too much about covering all of the expenses if the washing machine breaks down. Simplicity, convenience, and ease of use--it is easy to see why so many people like this durable washer.

Anyone who wants to get good value for money should look into getting the dependable Bosch WFMC1001UC.

Best Washer
by: Anonymous

My husband got me this washer about 3 years ago. It does take a long time per load but has never given us any problems that were not expected with a front loader.

Yes, the front seal gets mildew from time to time. Vinegar takes care of it. So does Lysol. It is also easily prevented by leaving the door open until the seal dries.

Am eagerly awaiting the dryer that matches as this is the best washer I have ever used.

Don't buy it!
by: Anonymous

This washer is horrible, I hated it from the first time I used it! Wish I would of returned it. Should of just bought a simple top loader, so much easier and you don't have to worry about having mold/mildew in the door seal and all your baby socks etc getting stuck in the seal... It stinks and I can't clean it enough with clorox but the mold is still there. Sucks to say going to put it to the curb only after 1 year.. what a waste of money!

Worst appliance i ever brought
by: Anonymous

This is one of the worst appliances I have ever bought. I wish I'd looked at user reviews first. It takes forever to do a load of clothes (always well over an hour), they often don't spin well, and the thing stinks to high heaven.

I've run bleach through it with no clothes, I leave the door open, I've cleaned the insides...the clothes come out smelling musty and gross. I'm going to just get a top loader like I've had for years before and junk this disaster. What a waste of money!

Horrible Machine!!!
by: Anonymous

I purchased this washer from Lowes 6 months ago. I truly hate this machine. Takes too long to do a load. Smells horrible. Clothes never smell clean. I tried to return it after having 2 months, but Lowe's would not take it back. Do not purchase this machine.

HOUSING CRACK
by: Anonymous

My housing on the washer and dryer is cracking and braking off. I talked to Lowe's and they said they have had numerous complaint with Bosch washer and dryers cracking. Lowes said it is a manufacture defect.

don't use too much soap
by: Anonymous

The problem the others are having is the problem I first had when I used it and after calling customer service - they helped me realize that if you use too much soap - it will have to run through another cycle - because it detects there is too much soap and it will leave your clothes too wet at the end of the cycle. As long as you put in less soap to begin with - you shouldn't have the problem these other 1 star people commented - I hope they realize this before they get rid of the machine.

Washes great
by: Anonymous

It does take longer to wash a load compared to my top loader but it holds more clothes. My clothes come out smelling great! You do have to leave the door cracked in order to let it dry so it doesn't mildew but that's with all frontloaders. Great washer for the price.

Bosch doesn't listen
by: qsl1

The Bosch Nexxt 100 is a piece of garbage I purchased from Lowe's. The washer stops constantly even after tremendous effort in balancing the machine. The balancing screws eventually became stripped because the machine never stays balanced. The rubber seal becomes moldy and is extremely difficult to clean out. We have decided after three years of fighting with our laundry to get a new machine.

thumbs down
by: christy

I spent way too much for this washer that takes forever to go through a cycle. I was impressed with the "efficiency" ratings but, honestly, how efficient is it to have a load take over an hour to run? It certainly isn't an efficient use of our time. I bought it at Lowes and they say that they cannot take it back as a trade in or help me out with my washer problems. What I am is "Stuck"

I wasted my $800
by: Patty

I bought this washer in January of 2008 because it had the JD Power seal of recommendation. I am not happy at all with this washer. It constantly goes off balance (I guess)and leaves my clothes weighing about 100 pounds with all the water left on them because it will not spin fast enough at the end of the wash cycle.

The white clothes never come clean or white as they did in my old top loader. I don't like the idea that the water amount in the drum is designed on the weight of the clothes that you put in, to me there is never enough water to wash the clothes.

I have even resoaked whites in a utility sink after washing them in the Bosch and the water in the sink is disgusting. This tells me that this washer does not do the job effectively.

I feel that I wasted my $800 and would have better off with a Sears Kenmore for less money. I would not recommend this to anyone.

hate this machine
by: Anonymous

We bought our front load washing machine in Jan.2007. I hate this washing machine. It makes me sick that we spent so much for this machine. I feel like we got ripped off. It's no good!!!!!!! It belongs in a junk yard. It smells bad, it's moldy around the seal, it gets gunk around and up under the seal. You have to clean it every time you use it, and it still smells bad.

You can't put anything white in it because it will come out dingy. It doesn't always spin the water out of your clothes. Some times they are ringing wet with water. You spin them again and it may or may not work. It doesn't rinse the soap out. There is not one thing positive that I can say about this machine. I regret ever buying it and wish I could send it back.

cleans well

Had it for 2 years, no problems. Very quiet and very efficient use of water. Excellent cleaning, great dispensers and does not get the musty smell like my not so good machine - Maytag Neptune.
