Washing machines are wonderful. I still remember my grand-parents twin tub and mangle. Now I have a machine with an easy care setting, a machine which almost fools me by only having one water inlet pipe; easily negotiated my hooking up the hot water, not the cold, washing machines are the least effective and most expensive water heaters on the planet, use water that's already heated.

The most wonderful thing about a newer machine is the wash time, it is so short compared to the older and that alone makes the investment worthwhile, you save money on electric and that in this day and age is by far one of the most important features of any appliance.
