Fast, efficient and lightweight
by: Graciela

The Black and Decker D2030 is one of the best irons I have ever used. The one problem I have is that I’m always in a rush to get to work on time. Instead of leaving my clothes ironed and ready the night before, I always wait until the last minute. The Black and Decker D2030 heat up in less than a minute, and it has many features that are wonderful.

I purchased my iron for only thirty dollars which was very affordable for the quality of work it does on my clothes. Like other irons the Black and Decker D2030 has steam which is controllable. The steam is great for getting an ironing job done much faster and more efficiently. Another feature that makes this iron great is that it is very lightweight.

This is the iron of choice when I have to take an iron with me on business trips. It’s lightweight and works much faster and efficiently than the cheap irons in the hotels that I stay at. Since the iron is only four pounds, I have saved myself from paying the extra fees at the airport for heavier luggage.

Another great feature that I love about this iron is that it has a detector that that automatically shuts off the iron when it’s left on for long periods of time. However, there is a drawback to this feature as well, if you have a lot of shirts or pants to iron it will shut off right in the middle of your ironing. This has happened to me a few times but I simply just turn it back on and it’s good to go. The auto shut off usually happens after fifteen minutes that the iron has been on.

Overall this is a great iron to have compared to other irons. It’s affordable, efficient, and it gets the job done. I prefer this iron to fancy ridiculously priced irons.

Nice bright, large display
by: Glenn

I hate to iron my clothes. I always put it off until the moment I need something to wear. That is why I really like my Black&Decker Digital Advantage iron. It is easy to find the right setting and it starts up quick with a beep to let you know it is up to temperature. I like the variable settings including a cotton blends lower heat setting that comes in handy on some of my garments.

It has a nice bright, large display to let me see the current setting. It fills easily with water with variable steam settings and a nice cover design on the reservoir. All buttons are well placed for thumb control, bright red light to tell you it is on and auto off should it be left on to long. It comes with a good length of electrical cable and well designed cable hook-up into the back of the iron keeping the cable safe and away from heated surface of iron.

A great handle that feels good in the hand, well balanced body that sits upright nicely and not at all heavy. It glides well on fabric and around buttons and zippers. It really helps you to quickly get a shirt or pants done in no time when you are in a hurry. It has a clean mode that works effectively and quickly. All settings and instructions printed on the iron are easy to read and well laid out. It is two tone in color and rather attractive to look at. The reservoir is a grey plastic that lets you see the water level through it.

Black&Decker is a name I trust and the iron has worked well with no issues at all. This is due to a well laid out design that is easy to use. I never had to open the instruction booklet as all the information I need to operate is readily printed on the iron. I recommend it.

This thing is AMAZING
by: Joseph Hill

The iron I use is called the Black & Decker D2030. One thing that is really helpful about this iron is the fact that it turns off automatically if you forget to leave it on, which is a constant problem in my house. It's lightweight, simple to use, and doesn't leave those brown burn stains on any of my clothes.

The only real complaint I have about this iron is the fact that when I had first received it, the power cable was faulty. I had plugged it into my wall and it shorted out causing little sparks. Also there was a crack where the water is deposited, and water would get all over my clothes. It wasn't a real problem, but if anyone is looking to purchase this iron, they should thoroughly inspect it to make sure there are no faults.

Otherwise, this thing is AMAZING! I've had other Black and Decker products in the past, and the only other iron that I can think of off of the top of my head is the F975. I can't recall if it is an older model, but I am pretty sure it is. This one lasted for a really long time. Both are reliable models and are highly recommended. I purchased both and Home Depot, but I'm sure you can easily order them online if there isn't a store in close proximity of where you reside. I received a 2 year warranty when I purchased mine at the store. I'm not exactly sure if they offer that everywhere they sell the iron.

You can also order them directly from www.blackanddeckerappliances.com. They usually run for about 30-50 dollars. Not too cheap, but great quality. The more inexpensive ones that I've seen don't look too sturdy, and may possibly break down on you too quickly. I hope you find this review very helpful.

Vertical steaming is useful
by: Anonymous

The Black & Decker D2030 Steam Iron is incredible. The features of this iron are: variable steam control, steam burst, digital temperature display (this is very bright and does have large print), auto off and auto cleaning. It also gives you the ability to steam vertically, which I found to be extremely useful.

This iron is a little heavier than my previous irons, but not so much that I really notice the difference when using it. Another thing I really love about it is that it heats up very quickly. The D2030 is very easy to fill and I don’t seem to have to fill it as often as I have had to other irons in the past. The amount of steam is produces is really great, as well.

The iron slides over any fabric I’ve used very well. For me, there was no hint of hesitation from the iron when I use it. I’ve used this iron on my curtains and dust ruffles and was really happy with its performance as I have had irons in the past almost singe my dust ruffles and this one did not do this at all.

I can get twice the ironing done in the same amount of time as I did before. This iron also has a soft handle that I nice when ironing a large amount. Also, the cord is a “pivoting cord” that moves with you. This iron was really affordable, as well.

One thing to know is that you do have to set the settings every time you turn the iron on. This doesn’t bother me, but it might be a nuisance for some. The manufacturer suggests that the steam setting be set to “no steam” when you are done with this iron.

I really love this iron and think it is the best one I have ever had. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
