Are Waterless Washing Machines The Future?

I loved the story on the waterless washing machine with the Xeros technology. With all of the environmental issues we are already facing with many more that I am sure will come up in our lifetime this sounds like an intreaging idea. I am a little concerned with the fact that this technology can remove "virtualy" all stains; which ones does it not remove?

While I'm sure the appliances would be really expensive, they would probably be smaller and could really save on energy costs, which are skyrocketing along with the price of everything else.

I am very excited to see some more research on the Xeros technology and to seeing these machines in stores, too.
