Amana Heavy Duty Super Capacity Plus
by Dana K
As I mentioned in a previous review, my husband and I are renters, so a Whirlpool washer and dryer were not in our future.
We felt lucky just to have a washer and dryer in the first place, and did not, necessarily, have high hopes for our Amana dryer - but we were wrong. This dryer is the companion to the Heavy Duty Super Capacity Plus washing machine, and like its companion it really does dry huge loads of clothing. I've actually dried sheets and
a quilt at the same time! I own a lot of delicates and usually have to hang most of them to dry, so the remaining load doesn’t even come close to filling the dryer’s capacity.
That means I can literally do two loads of clothes (minus the hang to dry items) and put them in the dryer at the same time. I do wish, sometimes, that there were more heat settings, as it really only has “Time Dry,” “Permanent Press” and “Air Fluff,” but it does its job.
If I bought my own dryer I would probably go for something that has a better delicates option, but overall, I’m satisfied with the Amana dryer and pleasantly surprised at its quality, given that it’s a lesser known brand.
